Yeah, I'm looking forward to it too. I'm also curious as tp how it will work out in terms of plot, as the books don't really translate well into a coherant story (a medley of Hitchhiker's guide and Resteraunt at the End of the Universe is probably the most logical way) then again, maybe Adams has simply done something completely different.

Well, HGttG is not really the easiest book to transform into a movie...I liked the books, but I have my doubts about the movie. Could the director pull it of? Well, Iam gonna watch it anyway.

It's an amazing book and a great radio seires, but it's abit too well..... silly in places to work as a film.

Yeh i kind of get the feeling that it just won't work, alright most books can be adapted to film but apart form its strangeness the humour in the book just wouldn't work in a film atleast not very well. The book is great but as a film i'm not so sure ofcourse we will see i may be completely wrong, which i really do hope but as iv'e said i have my doubts.

Saying that the trailer does look quite good, yet so did the trailer for aliens vs predator and that film was a load of bollocks.

I think that the film is going to be good, as it was Douglas Adams who wrote the screenplay and he hasn't stuck strictly to the book. He's added a few different characters and played around with the story (or at least the order that the story appears in the book). I just want to make it clear that I know he's now dead, he wrote it before he died, because the new film has been in pre-pre-production for years. Also Major. Rudiger, you git, I started a thread on this already and only got one reply :( . I'm going off to cry in a corner.

omg they're making a new Hitchhikers movie? Awesome. I've watched a few of the old tv series version of it, wasn't the greatest thing I've ever seen, pretty cheesey. I like the books though.
