I've tried to explain socialism and communism to a friend from USA. He is so sure about his own ideas that I really don't know how to try to explain him it even little bit. At least he doesn't consider USSR and China anymore as true communist states. I also gave him a list of books he should read before to judge over communism, because at the moment he is not very educated on that.

So what would be for example the best 10 points to say that socialism and communism are the only ways to the happiness?

Thanks

explaining and explaining.I think the first lesson to teach is that money does not inidcaTE someones life quality. And ask what advantages capitalism brings to HIM.

to the people i have tried explaining it all too it has gone rather smoothly. i tell them what i have learned from a bunch of different places about the whole cuba thing, i explain my views on the US and the whole 9-11 bull shit (sorry but i think that the whole aftermath with all its nationalistic crap is a load of steaming shit) and i tell them the ideals of communism. people dont know much about it kuz of the fear that has been instilled in them. break through the ignorance and fear (which could be hard) and you have a person willing to listen

Bu this person is 100% sure that USA is the best place in the wholw world. The only place where 'democracy' and 'freedom' do exist. He is so convinced in everything that I just don't know how to make a change in his mind. He doesn't think that money is everything but at the same time he gives me examples from American life against what I can't say anything because I just don't know enough much about it....

True... but there has to be some hope;) Because we have some points in common and some things with what we both agree although our ways to get there are somewhat different (somewhat is not the b4est word, better would be almost totally). I still would like to see a way to convince everybody, even the fanatics. Maybe because I believe in the idea of communism, I want to be sure that it's the only right one.

There is just no hope in some people. I can try to talk smoothly or screem out my ass, but some people are too stupid and arrogant. I normally convinc e someone when I say something funny or witty. I don't have any examples at the moment, but try to give them an example of a communist country, contrary to what they believed. This should stop them dead in their tracks and make them think for 3 seconds. You also have to include facts about other socialist countries as well. I got one cappie to cahnge his mind when I informed him that Norway has the highest living standards in the world. And guess what, they are socialist. Cuba, has the highest living standards, the best health care, and education systems in all of Latin America. This, normally will get them to think. If it doesn't work then they must be one of those people. You can't convince everyone you know.
