Sorry, my topic didn't post for some reason. Anyway, I have a senior project due next year, but for some reason or another my class is doing it a year early, but that's not important.

My project is the biography of Che. I recently got the book "Che" by Lee Anderson, and I've seen motorcycle diaries. Can anyone suggest anymore useful resources? Is the Motorcycle Diaies a reasonable substitue for the book?

Um, motorcycle diaries is not a substitute for his whole life, no, but the Jon Lee anderson book is very good. Also, im sure many people on here can help you with whatever needs :)

Hell fuckin no. I never even saw the whole thing but correct me if I'm wrong, it doesn't even show the revolution. If you want to know about che you're gonna hve to do a whole lot more than watch a movie. Do your research and read. A lot.

Did watching the Motorcycle Diaries inspire you to do this project on Che or did you already know about him before it came out? If so that's good you want to know a little more but don't be lazy. That biography may seem huge but it's good. You don't even have to read that. There are plenty other shorter books you could check out. Or the internet is a great resource too. Way more convenient.

Listen, if you have to even ask if the Motorcycle Diaries is a substitute for a biography of the man's life then you've really got ALOT of reading to do.

Che was more than a wacky (and rather good looking) Latin American kid cruising around the continent on a motobike with his "pals". He was also a hero of the Cuban revolution who took a bullet in the neck, dodged bombs as a teenager in Guatemala, shot people in the head for trying to desert his unit in the jungle, oversaw post revolutionary excecutions of many people, tried to organize Cuba's post revolution economy, escaped asassination attempts, attempted to overthrow the governments of 3 different countries and was eventually slaughtered, hands cut off and thrown in a shallow unmarked grave somwhere in the Bolivian countryside.

No, the movie isn't going to cut it.

Edit: Haha, that post sounded really mean. Good luck on your project, but get reading now because as weird as it sounds, that was actually the dullest part of Che's life.

I think he was asking if the Motorcylce Diaries movie was a good substitute for the Motorcycle Diaries book. But yeah, definately make the effort to read the biography.

Yes, I was referring to the Motorcycle Diaries movie to the Motorcycle Diaries book. I should have phrased that better.
And so far I am enjoying the book by Anderson, it's quite interesting.
Thanks everyone for your help :)
