Hey, I'm not sure if this belongs here, it's not really pertaining to leftist discussion, but a friend of mine showed me this and it's absolutely disgusting (yet mesmerizing at the same time), but I was wondering if it was doctored or something? Anyone one?

I don't know much about Recluses but I'm pretty sure that some bites can go gangrenous and cause severe lesions and the skin to peel back, which does appear to be similar to those pictures. However I've never seen gangrenous skin so I can't compare them.

Well i took the time to look it up, and it seems as those pictures are genuine. I went to a couple medical websites, and all had similar pictures. I'm gonna stay away from the mississippi area from now on.

from what I understand, the poison of the recluse literally kills living matter.. I know one person that's been bitten by one, and he has a rather large indent from where the doctors had to cut that part off his body.

And staying away from mississippi isn't going to help much.. they're called recluses because they generally hide in dark places.. like boxes, which then get delivered elsewhere. That's actually hoq my friend was bitten: unloading a warehouse shipment.

Besides, they're in more than mississippi. They're in Ohio, too, along with the black widow. Regardless, they're rare.

Oops! I didn't see (for almost a MONTH) that you responded to me. I looked up the type of spider on Wikipedia and found the information there.
