I personally don't believe in marriage, but it is a legal institution in this country. If heterosexual couples have the right to marry, then so should the homosexual couples. I noticed something (and I don't know if anyone has already said this), but right about the time the media starts talking about Bush's lack of military service, then the Marriage Protection Act suddenly takes over the media. In this country, the mind control is so steep. If a country is at war, why the hell would you want to fuck up the Constitution. Speaking of the Constitution, it was a nice idea in theory , but it leaves so many loop holes, especially with a fascist in office. [/SIZE][/color]

The media is lazy, or always extremely biased. The Constitution really was set up with burgeoise ideas set into it to benefit the ruling class, there some Marxist analysises of the American Constitution that show this, after all; the American Revolution WAS a burgeoise revolution. ;)

You both make very good points. All in which I believe fully. My point was is that the Amendment to ban Same-Sex Marriage was to advert our attention off of the war in Iraq, the genocide in Sudan, and Bush's lack of military service. The media plays games with the American mind. The sheep are too dumb to realize it.

Yeh but the media play with peoples minds everywhere not just the US. Saying that the Gay marrige dabate isn't really going to take much off the Iraq war or any of the other topics people can still care about more than one thing at a time. And just because the government tries to change what people are watching doesn't mean it will or has worked very well. I'd much rather live in Cuba where if your dying in the street atleast you'll get medical treatment without having to show some forms.

The idea same sex people shouldn't be allowed to marry is quite frankly archaic and shows just how controlling and stupid the US is.

I dont care whether youre heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, transexual, asexual, any-sexual or whatever, just have your sexuality, dont let society mould you into something it considers more effective and i personally believe that all should be able to have a relationship with any other consenting adult over the age of 16.

What you have to remember is that America is basically drowning in reactionary shit. The whiter you are, the richer you are, the more masculine you, the better according to American society. However, we are not in the 1950's anymore. American society still wants to go backwards, when the only way to go is forward.

What the hell did the gays ever do to the U.S. What happened to all of the freedom we hear about in North America. Fact, the gays are only a problem if we treat them like second class citizens, like not being eligeble for a marriage licence for instance, let them get married, then they can quit *****ing and those christian fundementalist in the White house can focus on real problems, like pauverty. And those christians and jews and muslims who think that weather you get into heaven or not is based on who or what you fuck. Your sexuality has NOTHING to do with who you are as a person. And homophobes are just using religion to justify evil, as usual, i bet we'll look back 50 years from now and much like the enslavement of black people, we'll say( how the hell did we let things get so bad, we are such dumb ass's.) like we always do.
