I dont mean nuclear weapons..

but how come countires buy weapons from other countires..

at the moment Venezuela is trying to purchase weapons... but why dont they build weapons within their own country.. ? surly it cant b that hard?

its metal afterall and im sure Venezuela have enough to make a fw thousand ak's..

I assume they could and probably will but the stuff there buying from Russia is pretty hi-tech. Russian military technology is the only stuff that can challenge US military technology.

I think that Japan is also very much on the uptake of technological process building robots and all. Maybe they have something up their sleeves?

Buying the weapons from Russia is probably just more convenient and cost-efficient.

yeah if you buy weapons off russia then they get high quality weapons and they dont have to set up factories and train people how to make the weapons, they probably dont have the money to go about making large arms factories.

Well... I would think the only technological rival the US has is the EU, Russia's technology could have been as good if not better then the US's (military wise). They had to cancel a LOT of their research and production due to their very poor economy.

Yeah, it is cheaper and faster to buy weapons from other countries, as "MiniOswald" pointed out.

Also like China Venuezela will get the designs for the modern weaponry they buy so they can produce modifications for themselves in the future.

Not to mention that Venezula is one of the main places thayt America goes for oil. America is probably giving them weapons to "defend their investments."

Actually the US gets more oil from Canada then any other nation (even saudi arabia).
