I thought it would be nice to start a thread on Nicarqua seeing as they fought a battle for solidarity in our lifetime against the U.S. government under Ronald Reagan.
Any details or web pages people wish to attach would be great regarding the Sandinista movement, Ortega, peasant songs of solidarity, and especially regarding the solidarity movements in Nicarqua prior to the war. To my understanding things really started to come together there under nationalization as far as schools, hospitals, and buses. I also know that these were targeted during bombing raids by the United States.
Also information about the buying of Honduran forces to fight the war. Is it true Hondurans were only offered two chickens to go and fight, was there a long standing animosity between the two regions?
It seems Nicaraqua is still being punished for her resistance, but from what I have heard people there are more free, and although they are poor their farm economy is solid as everything is bought in country. What more so y'all know?
