View Full Version : Prank bomb threat in my college...

So in my college, this kid from Switzerland (making him an international student) could not finish up an assingment. So he came up with a very stupid idea. He decided to call and bomb threat the building where his classes were held, making the security staff close down the building, thus gaining more time to finish his assingment.

The call was traced, and they found out it was him that did the call. He then had a trial and was sentenced to 12 months of provation and ordered to leave the country (U$A).

Now i know what he did was completely stupid, but i am shocked that they went to the extent of deporting him. Supposevely, he is a danger to society and he is getting deported; how paranoid is this country!?

This story found its way to the front page of the school's newspaper. They made him look like such a terrorist. I found funny that the person that attented the call described and claimed that the caller talked with an arabic accent. First of all, this was a lie; i know this person and he said he did not use the arabic accent. Secondly, why does it matter that the caller spoke with an arabic accent? is it really revelant to put this in the newspaper? Or are they just saying it because of the U.S assumption of Arab=terrorist?

So people know the story and they just don't care "we can't do anything about it?" most say. The college's international facility did nothing to help him. I feel like i must do something; i really belive deporting him was such a extremist and unnescessary action.

What do you guys think?

It was a pretty idiotic thing for this person to do. Even if we weren't living under the current paranoid climate which exists in the US, he would have likely suffered the same fate.

I don't really see what is worth defending here. Perhaps someone can make a compelling argument to convince me otherwise.

Mmm, what an idiot . . .

. . . he should have been more careful to avoid being caught.

I agree that he was an idiot but I also do think that deporting him was wrong. You don't have to lets this just slide by though. Organize with some kids you know and do some direct action for him. You can always fight back. And that arab accent thing? That is an example of the blatent racism in American culture.

Definetly a dumb move.

In my high school, since the junior high there have been almost 7 bomb scares, and it had all been carried out by the same kid, who they had just found, hes doing 2 years in prison now.

Dumb move all together, total disregard for student safety.

Jesus! That was a pretty dumb move... even killing the teacher would have been a better move

I think there's a bit of a paradox going on with USA and Arabs... as Arabs have huge investments in the U.S via deals with the Bush Administration... but there is alot of racism and hate from the U.S towards Arabs.

Ha ha! He's read the Anarchist cook book and was actually stupid enough to do someting it suggested!
I hope for his sake that he doesn't try to make any of the bombs in there either..... :P (lets just say that if he did, being a suicide bomber would be the only option)

What a pillock. One of the worst ways to get out of doing work he should have just hidden under a pile of coats and hoped evrything works out for the best

Shows how paranoid people can be claiming the guy was arabic just because his accent isn't clean american. Sticking one race under the same title just because of some religious fanatics. <_<

God yeah the anarchist cookbook is bad, funny but very bad.

There are plenty of poor americans who cant even get into that school, and his nerdy ass calls in a bomb threat cause hes not ready for his tests.

Its funny how the goverment labels the anarchist cookbook as highly dangerous when the fact is. Half the stuff in the book will kill you.*BOOM!*

Ehhhhhh...i think they exagerated with the "punishment"...

But this guy's an idiot: how the fuck can you get caught???

Concerning the accent thing, if he didn't use "arabic" accent, then it proves you yankees are a bunch of idiots.
