Very imaginative.

In the very early days of SDS, the chapter I was in put out a whole bunch of leaflets and posters announcing that we were going to burn a dog to death on a certain day -- so that people would understand the effects of napalm first hand.

A couple of thousand very angry people showed up. We said to them, "This is how you react when a dog is threatened with an agonizing death -- while the U.S. government is doing it to thousands of people on a daily basis in Vietnam???"

Shook some folks up. :D

PS: you can probably bet the rent money that the authorities will find some way to make them take down the display. "Free speech" has a very short half-life in capitalist America.

Yeh they'll make up some bullshit law about hanging clothes outside bedroom windows or that army clothes have to be folded up when not in use

The message is very strong this guy clearly disagrees and what he's done is great really testing "free speach" it's got a much more potent message than most of the protests iv'e seen about the war.

I think that is a very reasonable display of protest. I don't even see it as wishing death upon US soldiers or something malicious like that. The message I got from the display was that " Your tax dollars are paying for a false war in which American soldiers are dying". And this is a message that I think many Americans, including those grieving relatives lost in Iraq, can agree with. I certainly hope the display remains.
