Hello everyone!
I used to post frequently on the che-lives.com forums a few years back under a name that was something along the lines of "CheVive" or something like that. It's been a while, so i'm not really sure if anyone would remember me. Anywho, I'm glad to be back and looking forward to posting again.
I don't really have much to say about myself except that I'm a 19 year old University student from Ohio. I don't consider myself a communist, although I do have strong communist/socialist leanings. Technically, I'm a member of the Democratic Party, although they're too conservative for me on most issues. I won't praise the Democratic Party, however I am a proud Kerry Voter.
Well, I just wanted to introduce myself. Thanks.

She's an American Citizen, she's allowed to be bitter. I mean, it's folk like yrself who keep insisting "Vote for Tweedle D, he's a better warmongering plutocrat scumfuck!" and in doing so, help destroy any semblence of legitimate democracy.

I just thought it was a bit of a rude welcome, but I'm aware that I was overeacting and I'm over it. It's just hard not to have a reaction when somebody says something of that nature. And at the same time I can completely understand peoples unhappiness with Kerry. It was just my first election, therefore the whole ordeal is close to my heart.
Also, I'm sorry that you assume that I'm like that. Anyone who wants to vote for a liberal third party candidate has my full support. I never insisted on anyone voting for Kerry, and the only people I tried to convert, were those who were going to vote for Bush.-
And I don't want to get into an argument over Kerry, but I don't see him as a warmongerer at all. He protested the Vietnam War and would not have gone into Iraq.

Oh, I'm not going to deny that Kerry did some cool shit in the sixties - it's very true.
However, to say he "would not have gone into Iraq" seems a little silly, especially when he has said quite the opposite. Further more, what he would have done matter much less than what he intended to do - maintain the occupation, continue the "War On Terror", keep enriching the rich, etc.
I admit, my last post was unnecessarily stand-offish. I appologise.
I even understand why you'd vote for Kerry, given the circumstances . . .
. . . but don't be "proud" of it - say, if need be, under pressure "I held my nose, betrayed my principles, and voted for the lesser of two scumfucks."

;) Thanks.
Welcome to the board.
There are a lack of social-democrats kicking around* - the variety might be nice.
*They all seem to leave inexplicably after a few posts. Personally, I like to think this is because they've found such inspiration in the board's radicalism, that they've blown something up and gone underground, thus losing their internet access.

I was going to add "and welcome to the board" after it, but to me it made it seem more bitter... I didn't mean to be mean! Honest!

:D You're fine! I just hope I didn't come across as obnoxious or anything. And Molotov, maybe you're right about those social-democrats. Or else you scared them into becoming Republicans. ;)

I'm inclined to agree about the variety thing. I'm kinda used to hearing the same thing over and over around here. Makes for slightly less than engaging conversation sometimes.

Speaking of democratic socialism, I'm curious to hear what you think of THIS DOCUMENT (http://www.debstendency.org/pointsofunity.html), FeArANDLoAtHiNg. What points do you agree and disagree with?

1. Agree
2. Agree
3. Agree, and I see how this rules out the Democratic Party as truly just party.
4. Agree, and I see many Democrats that fall under the "vote-seeking for the sake of votes and office-seeking for the sake of office" mold.
5. Agree
6. Agree. I agree with removing all US troops from ANY foreign land, although it is a tough situation with Iraq. I don't think we should have ever been there, it's just that the way Bush is running things, we may likely never leave. And leaving right now might even endanger many of the Iraqi people, because of the way it's been so poorly run. But yes, I agree that there shouldn't be any US troops in Iraq or anywhere else. It's hard to explain, but that's the main reason I voted for John Kerry. I didn't know how much change he would have actually been able to enact (which is discouraging), but I knew he was the only one that was going to be elected other than Bush, and he had a better shot at it.
7. Agree
8. Agree, but if I'm the president, I at least want a mansion!
