US takes a crap on South Korea. - ???

Someone told me in a thread a few weeks ago that US screwed/screwing over South Korea. I was wondering, if that guy is still here or if anyone else is going to defend this position, why? How did the US screw over South Korea. (I'm not for the US but I'm just thinking) South Korea is doing great, economy high, very industrialized but agricultural still powerful, doing A LOT better than North Korean dictatorship.

Might have been me, although I didn't quite say it like that. What I said was the US ruined the one chance for freedom korea as a whole had. By interfering in the civil war that the communists had won.
Once the US invaded they set up the south as a colony, much as the japanese have done in the past. They promptly set about harrassing the north/communist forces. Also the south is historically the source of all the food etc. for the country korea, by taking over and forcing the communists north they cut off the traditional food source.
Also by this action they set a siege/occupation mentality in the communist troops, to them the civil war was won and victory was stolen by an invading army. So the whole culture of the north was formed around this attitude and still is. The north consider the south to be occupied territory, as I do. The south is better off now of course, however if the US hadn't invaded I believe the whole country would be better off, governing themselves and united. The Juce system wouldn't have happened without the US invasion.
A lot of people in the south consider the current system to be a dictatorship as with all the 'democracy' we see today, I agree.
I'm not saying the north is better, I hate the system as much as anyone, but the idea that we possess any kind of real democracy is laughable really.
I always think when considering Korea: how would the US react if some super power invaded during their civil war? Does any country have a right to involve itself in anothers civil war?

Oh...Well it would be better if we were all united. North Korea would have the military and we have the food and technology.
But if the US did not interfere I would be living under a dictatorship worse than the one now. Maybe we wouldn't be as technologically advanced (South Korea is very advanced in technology). I don't know what to think when it comes to Korea.
