The recent invasion of cappie know-nothing-at-alls :lol: takes up a lot time. More than they are worth, actually. So, should we consider, as a time saving measure, to make a sticky on the forum where the most common cappie questions are answered and rethoric debunked. Just as a time saving help, mind you, they have really shown how easy they are to out-wit the last week or so :P

To be scientifically correct, it means that the person with an IQ of 200 has far higher intellectual abilities than the person with an IQ of 80.

If you fail to understand the significance of this, then your understanding of IQ amounts to &#39;Jack shit&#39; as you so crudely put it.

An IQ test is just a general measuring instrument designed to give us an ability to compare the &#39;Intellectual capacity&#39; or intelligence (a very broad term) between two or more human brains.
It is not an instrument for predicting how successfully or unsuccessfuly an individual will lead one&#39;s life.
I assume that is a component of the flawed logic behind your reasoning in this matter.
If so, then do not worry. To put it simply, just being alive is the best feeling you will ever have.

Unlike most of the other members of this forum I actually want to dicuss my politics and philosophy with capitalists.
However, I recognise that as many have pointed out arguments with capitalist members do tend to recycle the same arguments. This is almsot certainly just because the average lifespan of a capitalist poster is distinctly lower than that of a left wing poster. You guys just arent gripped by the material here.

To sticky the most common Capitalist arguments means that we can actually get somewhere in debate, and make an exchange of ideas, without getting bogged down in repetition or toehr problems.

I see no reason why the Capitalists themselves should not see advantages to stickying the major and most recurring topics.
In fact, why don&#39;t you make some suggestions of your favourite arguments? If you suggest interesting ones we might actually manage to stimulate some interesting debate.
Maybe we won&#39;t and people will remain entirely at odds. But I think it&#39;s worth a try, don&#39;t you?

IQ may not be shit, but, whereas we have no accurate means of measuring it, it may as well be.
IQ Tests inevitably reflect the socio-cultural (Including linguistic, and so on) circumstances and norms in which the the authors of the tests wrote them.
This essentially renders IQ tests useless, outside of wonderful fantasy worlds of grand universalizable truths.

This is the extent to which IQ is not bullshit. For them to be used sensibly the exact nature of the mental features that they identify and give weight to has to be kept in mind throughout the process of the test and it&#39;s subsequent application.

IQ tests are certainly biased towards particular groups. This makes them fairly useless towards some parts of the population. However for some, ie Westerners, they are useful. Because the tests are designed with Westerners in mind.

Western society is one which has an incredibly broad set of cultural ideas.
The cultural factors that are a problem for IQ in looking at people from different societies altogether are just as much a problem for applications of IQ tests within western society.
Issues of class, national culture and the development of one&#39;s personal culture are all consequential to IQ tests in the west.
