I mean, that's where communists sent people they disagreed with in real life...why not do it here too.

Too late.

I proposed it myself a few months back...and would you believe that 60% of our humorless membership voted it down?! :o

Ah well, maybe I'll try again around summertime.

That is very true.

No...it's actually rather difficult to be banned on this board...not that it can't be done, of course.

Nazism, racism, etc. will get people banned...sometimes very quickly.

Being pro-capitalist won't...unless you really annoy us over an extended period of time.

One pro-capitalist managed to make over 3,000 posts (all in this forum) before our patience was finally exhausted.

But he was an unusually bright fellow...yet prone to rants and abuse. Finally the rants and abuse just outweighed his positive contributions.

Yeah, but I was thinking this particular forum is for those with opposing views. I understand banning for abusive language & such.

But I was restricted to this place, and I haven't done anything that bad.

You haven't done anything "bad" at all. The reason we have this forum is so that we lefties can discuss matters in the other forums without being distracted by pro-capitalist irrelevancies.

You see? In this forum, we dispute with those who are pro-capitalist. In the other forums, we dispute amongst ourselves. (Sometimes we dispute amongst ourselves in this forum as well...we are very argumentative.)

There are some "lefties", from time to time, who get restricted to OI for very bad behavior...for them, it is a "punishment" -- it means they've said some things that really pissed us off, and we voted to stick them in here for a while until they learn better behavior or (on occasion) get banned.

But for those, like yourself, who are pro-capitalists, OI not a "punishment". It's simply to keep you from distracting or annoying us in the other forums.

As others have already pointed out -- it was "wished-for" a couple of months back.

And I voted for it to be changed to the The Gulag. As I thought it was quite fitting. As that's where those filthy bastards deserved to be.

Unbeknownst to me... I would be "locked up" in there with a month or two.

As a now "restricted member" I feel that the forum should still be entitled The Gulag.

What irony!

Still feeling sorry, that you got your asses kicked?

The freedom to enslave ha?

Oh, in general cops don't shout slogans. They beat up and kill.

BTW. Freedom Cabbage boy what did the GOP and the cops do with protestors in New York. Say it to me, baby. I know you want it ;)

Still feeling sorry, that you got your asses kicked?

No, not really. I'm kind of glad your folks attacked someone who disagreed with them; it shows just how interested in "freedom" you really are.

The freedom to enslave ha?

Enslave who?

I've been invloved in politics a while now and haven't heard of either major party advocating the slavery of anyone.

I'd love to see your basis for this question?

Oh, in general cops don't shout slogans. They beat up and kill.

Yes, I saw that quite frequently at the inauguration. All those protesters lined up along the route were beaten then shot right in front of me. Quite the bloodbath.

Oh wait, that didn't happen.

BTW. Freedom Cabbage boy what did the GOP and the cops do with protestors in New York. Say it to me, baby. I know you want it ;)

Cabbage Boy?

The GOP did something to the protesters? What was it, specifically?

From what I heard some cops in NYC got out of hand and there is a lawsuit, as there should be. I'm not sure it's been settled.

So tell me, as the anarchists instigated the violence and the cops overstepped their bounds, was it official police policy to break the law? To beat anyone or kill anyone?

How many people died in NYC, by the way?

Face it, you're nothing but a baby. You instigate and instigate and instigate the cops until they snap, do the right thing and kick your ass. Then you go screaming to mommy and the papers and your attorneys and claim brutality.

Give it up sport, daddy still doesn't love you despite how much of his attention you think he'll pay to your protests.

Big, fat fucking *YAWN*.

No, CI still posts from time to time...though some clever devil rigged the board software in such a way that when he types in his favorite epithet, it comes out reading "cutie pie".

The guy I was referring to had several names -- "Ghost Writer" was one of them, but I can't remember his original one.

Unlike our current crop of "biz-ed majors", he had actually studied some science and history...and consequently had, from time to time, some interesting things to say.

In fact, he once wrote an original post on the scientific method that was so well done, I could not help but compliment him on his efforts.

If we had known the qualities of those who would replace him here, perhaps we would not have yielded to the impulse to ban him quite so quickly.

Interesting tactic - and one that seems to be scandalously disused amongst the current Gulag population, I must say ;)

And also -- and this one is a "beauty" -- I was accused of possessing aversion for the working class! :o

Subsequent making a thoughtless racial joke... one that imbecile in the strictest sense (someone with an IQ between 25 and 50 and a mental age of two to seven years) could have effortlessly have identified as a joke given the context -- I was "deported" to Opposing Ideologies.

Funny, but it wouldn't've been very appropriate. Historically a few attempts at socialism have resulted in gulags being used . . . but everyday capitalism is one big effing gulag.
