Communes?

I am new here, and signed up to ask this question (although I will likely continue posting here, as this seems like a good community).

I have been trying to find information on present-day communes, specifically in the United States, although info about other countries would be helpful as well.

Also, if anyone has information about "distributed communes", this would be very helpful.
