WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A senior U.S. Marine Corps general who said it was "fun to shoot some people" should have chosen his words more carefully but will not be disciplined, military officials said on Thursday.

Lt. Gen. James Mattis, who commanded troops in Iraq and Afghanistan and is slated to be portrayed by star actor Harrison Ford in an upcoming Hollywood movie, made the comments at a conference on Tuesday in San Diego, California.

"Actually it's quite fun to fight 'em, you know. It's a hell of a hoot. It's fun to shoot some people. I'll be right up front with you, I like brawling," Mattis said.

"You go into Afghanistan, you got guys who slap women around for five years because they didn't wear a veil," Mattis said during a panel discussion. "You know, guys like that ain't got no manhood left anyway. So it's a hell of a lot of fun to shoot them."

This is why I think there are no fundamental differences between the nazi Germany and the Imperialist America.

There can be no justice under the imperialist rule.

Actually there is....we don't have Concentration Camps or things like them. Our people are free to speak out against the government, and so on.

I think what you actually meant to say is that, there's no difference between most communist nations and Nazi Germany.

You do have concentration camps... Your people might be free to criticize the government, but how many does it? Your brainstormed by mainstream culture, media and capitalist greed.

Let's play a game: Show me a "communist nation" (even the term is contradicting) and I'll show you a flying penguin smoking chillinuts. There is none.

Gitmo is a prison for terrorists, people caught on the battlefield fighting with Al-Queda. When we just start scooping people up and putting them there, and then start gassing them...I guess you could compare it to a concentration camp.

And I'm calling those countries communist because the government controls the economy in those countries. Last time I checked...that's the definition of communism.

LIES!!

Quite some people who were imprisoned turned out to be innoncent. Standing in the wrong place, at the wrong time. After being beaten and being Abu Graibed a bit, they were released.

Another one, since we are having so much fun. According to Human's Right Watch 70% percent of the prisoners at Abu Graib is innoncent. That explains why people are imprisoned and released at such a high rate. But I can tell you, the prison gaurds are 100% guilty.

I agree, especially since it is necessary. They killed my people, they threaten my people, and they've forever changed the American way of life of liberty e.g. threats to our security so we have to practically strip at the airport, etc. I carry my cell phone & car keys even when I leave my office building to get a cup of coffee across the street, just in case terrorists strike again.

Maybe paintballing, but real combat can be quite nerve wracking.

Put I do agree, paintballing is fun!
