I'm convinced that they are the best metal band ever created in human history

Motorhead is some good stuff. An all time classic.
They came by here and played a show awhile back but I missed it.

Motorhead are great! However they don't accept the title "heavy metal".They say they're a hard rock band.

Motorhead are quite good, Ace of Spades is fantastic the only problem i have is that Lemmy is a big fascist bastard

meh, I like their first album and the songs Sacrifice, Eat the Rich, and Ace of Spades.
I thought Lemmy was an anarchist, though.

Lemmy is a big fascist bastard
He's a big collector of Nazi memorabelia, though I'm not sure what his ideological pursuasion is...

I don't know. It could be out of sarcasm or an honest interest. One of my friends collects WW2 stuff and a LOT of it is German, and he isn't a nazi.

fine question
I s'pose that his persuasion is anti-all (and government of course) but justice as well as many other rockers are
"The government is coming in and it wants to be your friend,
it wants to show you how to be a snitch.
Inform upon your children, the inevitable end,
is everyone a victim but the filthy fucking rich.
And the religion, like the monster that it is,
keeps telling you to turn another cheek.
God's on your side, but I don't think that you're on his,
if Jesus showed up he'd be in jail by next week."
So to be serious... Lemmy's persuasion's satire, I think... and he does it great.

I remember in this interview I read they said that they consider themselves to be a blues band that plays faster than how other blues bands usually play.

Well yeh. Lemmy does just collect Nazi memorabelia which is abit strange really, WW2 stuff from all sides thats ok but only Nazi things <_< i think iv'e seen him wearing a swaztika too. But i was just hypothesising i have no real evidence to support this claim.

Well, i have heard that after lemmy was playing a show, this frontman from a neo-nazi band came up to him with nazi propoganda and lemmy spit in it, tore it up, and threw it in his face.
Jesus Christ!

I hate motorhead. Every single one of their songs sound exactly the same. I hate Lemmy's voice. You want good old school metal listen to black sabbath.

Maybe Lemmy was jealous that the guy had more nazi memmorabelia than him

He has also spoken out against right-wing nutjobs and deplores them using his image for their hategroups.

Isn't this all his own fault really if he collects NAzi things he should expect a certain amount contact with fascist groups wanting to recruit him or us his picture to drum up support. If he took up something such as gardening or pottery then ther'd be none of this confusion.

That's true, but i'm Jewish and i don't believe he's a nazi. You can still collect items from a tragic event, but i don't think he should be deemed a nazi because he collected their medals. If he believed in fascism i would think differently. I know sid vicious walked around with a swastika on his shirt, but he did it for effect, or so he said. Just listen to motorheads lyrics, i don't think they're nazis.

Well yes i was just speculating before but he must know the affect it has and even if he is using it for the affect it creates he has a hell of alot of Nazi memorabelia. I'm pretty sure he's not a nazi though.

yeah, 250,000 dollars worth of nazi memorabilia is not just for shock. But even so, i find it hard to believe that he is a nazi.

I remember years ago there was a controversy over this in a mag called 'Metal Maniacs"..apparently Lemmy made what was construed as pro nazi statements, and the editor, who happenned to be Jewish, stopped covering Motorhead. I dont remember the statement, and I remember some people saying the comments were innocent.

Yeh i think we should just go with the idea that Lemmy isn't a Nazi and leave it at that because this thread is getting abit tedious.
