They want to plug the loot into their companies and pockets via "investment" in their companies, where the money can essentially disappear.
Actually, the nature of investment is that the ones who profit the most are the investors, not the companies which are invested in. The only way a company even makes money by opening itself up to the market is by receving a substantial number of investments. Therefore, retirees will have more money by investing the money that would have gone to Social Security, than by leaving that money in the (failing) Social Security program.
The failing social security system has been giving stable returns people can depend upon for 50 years, meanwhile just a few years ago large segments of the stock exchange crashed.
Who exactly are the largest investors and on the board of most of the blue chip stocks, impoverished elderly people now are going to play the stocks with their life support system which plays for their mediciene, rent, and food.
I remember an elderly man and his wife in Florida, she was stressed every day because he would play the stocks with their retirement, you would have this happen to the entire country?
What's going to happen when the Social Security system fails, and there are more retirees taking out than there are workers putting in? How will "all the workers" who "depend upon social security" survive? Do you actually have a plan to save Social Security, or are you just defending socialism on principle?
According to Social Security officials it will last another 37 years before needing money from tax revenues, the certain far right Republicans are using their control of the Senate and presidency to damage it and get their hands on the money that is still in there. When you consider the billions of dollars of tax money spent on the war on Iraq a little moeny out of taxes towards the social welfare of it's citizens would be money well spent.
I am not stating this out defense of socialism, I'm stating it based on the rights of the community to sustain itself versus the wasting of money on foreign wars. Socialism is simply a system which honors the community over the market.
As far as your ideas about most hispanics being Republicans what a bunch of bull, New Mexico is 80% hispanic and is traditionally Democratic, but the object here is not to endorse either of those camps and talk about socialist and communist ideas not sectarism between the two U.S. parties.
As far as ex-Cuban and Iranian nationals, some are Right wing particularly ones who owned a lot of land or property and lost it, in a way they are sore losers. I also know Cubans who are very happy for the medical and other education they got in Cuba and return to be with their family every chance they get, and miss certain parts of the Communist system, and are not entirely happy with the the hyper capitalism of America for the way it treats those who are less fortunate.
Any time you speak in absolutes you are bound to be wrong.
