Since 9 years ago, maoists in Nepal are fighting to impose a communist government in the country, and the actual "democratic" government is incapable to promote peace for the king. He propose to restablish peace and make democratic elections within the next 3 years.

whats your opinion, i dont have much information about the subject since it is a recent subject.

I dont like the Maoist militants that much, but the Nepalian king (and his government) is proven to be both oppressive and incompetent. So I just hope the Maoist could takeover faster and somehow make a positive contribution towards the interest of Nepalian people.

I doubt they'll let the leftist parties run.

What's actually happening there appears to be a coup - the king's assumed absolute power. Opposition leaders have been arrested.

As for "peace" what he apparently means is the elected government's been unable to crush the Maoists.link (http://www.turkishpress.com/world/news.asp?id=050201201517.4byjp8dc.xml)

It's hard to be sure of details because the country's been cut off from the outside world. TV, telephones, you name it, foreign media not able to contact their reporters in the country nor allowed to fly in reporters to find out what's going on. But that itself is not a good sign.

His actions highlight his growing panic and paranoia. He knows the maoists are too strong to lose this revolution. I personally believe that a communist government instead of a cruel monarchy is in order for Nepal, whether the U.S. and its cronies like it or not.

My Hindu friend told me that when he and his family were in northern India, they talked to some Nepalese who's parents were killed by the Maoists and a few teenagers who were part of the Revolt.

When I told him about this, he said he didn't like the Maoists because they were puppets of the Chinese and were a landgrab just like Tibet. I told him that Tibet was a feudalistic society before the Chinese came in, and he told me if it was worth the massacres to change the system there. I said it was, because capitalism/state capitalism is preferable over the horrible Tibetan feudal system. He didn't say that much after that.

I see no connection with the Nepali Maoists and the Chinese. Is there anything refuting this or supporting this? Or was this distortion that my friend heard?

That seems unlikely; Maoists are usually pretty hostile to the present leadership of the CCP. And you can believe there would be a diplomatic shitstorm if any of the capitalist governments concerned thought the Chinese government was doing any such thing.

Nepal is a corrupt country from the top downwards wether you have a dictatorship or a maoist communist society doesn't matter corruption is a disease that permeates all of Nepalese society.

Maoists because they were puppets of the Chinese and were a landgrab just like Tibet.

Thats not necessarily true. The Chinese government condemned the Nepalese Maoists and aided the Nepalese King. I guess a Maoist Nepal isn’t to China’s advantage. I ca already see that people are harboring misled concepts about Tibet. Later on I’ll write an article about it. For now, I should call on our comrades to first abandon western propagandas over the issue of Tibet.
