Imagine if you will, a revolution in the country you are in. Everyone decides to throw away the old system and begins reforming the nation.
What happens to all the people in the prisons across the country? They were held captive by a system that no longer exists. Should they be emancipated? Wouldn't they deserve a second chance? I want to know everyone's opinion.

Amnesty is a part of revolution but in these days some crimes are so bad I think cases would have to be reviewed individually by an independent commission.

Something like the revolutionary courts used to try soldiers of right-wing fascism could also be used to look over case files of prisoners, and judge whether or not they should be released.

I'd be willing to deal with any headaches like this if the revolution happened finally. Justice will be altogether different when money is removed from the throne anyway.
But, more specifically, I would deem things like murder, rape, etc, those offenses which warrant continued jail time.
Everyone else can go home, especially those convicted for class-related crimes like drugs, theft, etc.
I think that the non-class based cases should be reviewed. As for the drug offenders, decriminalize drugs, but put addicts in treatment.

Definitely let the child molesters out. There's lots of young, tender flesh to be devoured out there! Free the prisoners!
