Hey,
I think Rage Against the Machine has to be one of my favorite bands of all time...I wish I could see them in concert again....

They're are my favorite too. You got to see them in concert!? Wow your lucky. I saw live at the Grand Olympic DVD and it looks like they put on a good show. I think the reason Zack left was because of Tim's MTV stunt. But with the world in the shape that it is today, I wouldn't be suprized if they got back together.

What exactly was Tim's MTV stunt?

Tim got on stage while Limp Bizkit was receiving their award, and Tim climbed a fifteen foot thing on the stage and rocked back and forth. He was arrested for this. I don't really know why this would make Zack leave but he did.

that's silly and wrong.
i really hope that audioslaves next cd kicks ass or ill gonna be mad. tom morello and tim2k were so good in rage but in the audioslave cd tom just played so watered down and then tim just turned on his bass and played along. really disapointing. has anyone heard and of zachs solo stuff, march of death is the only song ive heard and it's pretty good.

Communists, Anarchists, and political cynics alike. At this day in age, it is imparitive that we do not quarrel, our nubers are quickly decreasing, and so is our power. In order to attain the dream of our former comrades we must ban together and strive for our common goal. Do not bring your idealists fantisies along, leave them be, for the world in which we live in is an imperfect one, and if we fight for perfection then we will be fighting for nothing. There are steps we must meticulously follow to bring about social and political change. I do not ask for you to follow me but respond if you are ready to make a difference.

I heard Zach de la Rocha's new solo stuff. Pretty cool.

Yeah, it's pretty good. You should check out "Center of the Storm" and "C.I.A." as well. The former is pretty much trip-hop (Roni Size is the DJ on it) and the latter is straight hip-hop (features The Last Emporer and KRS-1). There were also crossover songs that Rage did with Snoop Dogg and Tool (not on the same track, obviously).
In any case, I've seen them live and the do put on a fucking killer show. They were/are my favorite band, and I was depressed for months after they broke up. After all, they were what turned me from a liberal into a socialist in the first place.
Edit: I've read just about every major music publication on them (Rolling Stone, Spin, A.P., Raygun etc.) and mostly the breakup seems to have been caused by Zack's solo project and anger management problem. A solo project which years later has yet to be released, I might add.

I thought the govt. was already putting pressure on rage when they were going to break up, because they were causing riots. I got the Battle for mexico city Dvd, its sick and only like 8$
