I was just listening to one of the first cds I purchased (Papa Roach, Infest) and realized, I think that was my first political band. I was just wondering who was everyone elses first political group?

RATM's selftittled album, not really because they were political but because our band had lots of there covers.

Every musical (cultural) movement and every band has political and social significance, whether or not they're aware.

Bob Dylan, though, was the first musician with actual political lyrics that I listened to. Or the Beatles, if you consider that political...

Id have to say for me it was Living Colour..lyrics like "History's a lie that they teach you in school, a fradulant view called the golden rule" and "Relate to me as me, not what you see on tv' were simple but powerful to my young mind.

I like/liked Living Colour. They did have some good lyrics and I liked the music as well.

My first political group, that depends.

Black Sabbath? Their early stuff, most notably War Pigs was political at times. After that The Clash and Dead Kennedys.

Most bands have a few political songs, depends on what you define as a political band.

Well, Bob Marley and Bob Dylan were the first musicians with political lyrics that i listened to. But coming to bands, System Of A Dawn were the first political band i came across, and they are so damn good.

I can't remember...My earliest memory of actually lsitening to them beyond a few songs on MTV was the Clash a few years ago while in the car to my grand parent's. I didn't really like 'em then.
