Hello my fellow leftist comrades (OR NOT)! I would like to put foward this question ever since I registered this site! I was wondering whether you could be a neutral on this site and not necessarily 'leftist'!

I know..... it may not seem to make any sense but I think you guys and girls have got the gist!

It depends what you mean - Revolutionary Left is meant as a site for decussion among leftists, particularly revolutionary leftists, as the name implies. Since "centrism" tends to refer to a capitalist ideology that pays lip-service to some popular leftist causes, it really doesn't make much sense to post here as a centrist.
Hopefully though, a bit of browsing and argument might persuade that weak-kneed-liberal-bullshit is just that . . .

My friend came on. He's a centrist. He's also a history buff, and the forum does have sections relating to history/philosophy/etc... even if they are in a leftist context. Granted he's not posted much, but I don't think this is because he finds anything particular about the board a turn off.

How can you even be a centrist? Are you basically undecided about your political ethics?

Abstrakt, it's born out of extreme agnosticism. So yes, effectively undecided, although most centrists will hold some ground views from both sides. I wouldn't say it's undecided about ethics, more so undecided about how left/right political agendas play on your ethics and whether they actually fit with your ethics, thus you don't really accept either, and you kinda form something of a middle way that takes parts from one, parts from another, or ignores both sides completely and leaves you undecided.

EDIT: It's something of an admission that you "don't know what is definitively right or wrong." Like a theological agnostic who does not deny nor confirm the existence of a God, but simply "doesn't know."

Ah I see. They take "this and that" of what they like from both parties, and form their own. correct?

Although there are formed somewhat centrist parties, I think most centrists generally are probably independent in terms of party alliance. Just a guess.

This is a forum for leftist descussion. There are some places on here that we will talk to you about other things like this forum, or opposing ideologies.

Anyway I am not so sure how neutral you really are.
Chances are you are one or the other and you do not know it yet, because in the end you are either complicit with the workers being in power or the capitalists.

Yeah, I'm "persuing" a "centrist" girl. Hey, maybe I can persuade her to the left:)

you cant make her into a leftist.
You need to respect who she is and help her find out what the hell she thinks by paying attention to what she says....and why she says it.
Everyone is someone.

You will fail miserably. I tried things like that once.. then I tried not caring what their particular views were.. now I'm certain that their views and how they conflict with my own are quite important :D

You'll be wasting your time, and end up hurting yourself.
