In the mid 90s a band formed in Chicago named The Broadways. After members had already been in the ska band Slapstick and the punk band Tricky Dick, they decided to form another political band focused at reform. Although the band only lasted about half a decade the fans were all die hard. They made songs bashing capitalistic ideas, trying to show the faults in our education system, and tell the stories of our ecologoical nightmares that have come to be reality. The music is a bit hard for some with high distortion levels and screaming vocals but this only shows their frustration with society. All of the band members now in one of two bands, The Lawrence Arms or The Honor System. These bands are political but their radical ideas are not as strong as they were in The Broadways. Even today people who go to see the bands The Broadways have become still wear the shirts from The Broadways and shout out requests for their songs. I strongly encourage anyone to check out their music or at least take a look at some of their lyrics.
