Sgt. 1st Class Jeff Due, right, a U.S. Army recruiter, is surrounded by protesters at Seattle Central Community College, Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, in Seattle. After about a 10-minute standoff during which protesters tore up U.S Army literature, the protesters were successful in getting Due and another recruiter to leave their table under escort by campus security officers. Several hundred students walked out of classes at several Seattle colleges and universities to protest the inauguration of President Bush . (AP Photo/Ted S. Warren)

At least some people have got a bit of sense. Makes a change to see the little things like that being publicised (sp?). It might catch on...

Could this be the beginning of something a whole lot bigger? Students in open contempt of army recruiters can only be because of the war. Could this feeling and a willingness to do something about it spread through students over the country? I really do hope so.

So typical of recruiters to target community colleges while the children of privelage at our universities can graduate and go on to make blood money off the souls of the poor. The poor are always the ones to fight a rich mans war.

What, do you expect the rich to put their lives on the line?

At my school we have bastard recruiters all the time, and one of them handed me a pamphlet and I tore it up and said I don't trade blood for oil.

i initiated a group of about 10 people at warped tour in buffalo to go up to the USMC recruiters and tell them being a marine was not punk rock. it went over well. we got yelled at and some skinheads threatened to beat us up.

There were some marines or something at H.S. a couple years back.

I asked them if they were astronauts or just baby killers.

I was promply suspended from school for 2 days

this is great what these students did. i do think the the image of the imperialistic war in iraq has dropped into a pile of blood. we can only hope such actions will spread.

Exactly, one of the first things we do here a UC Santa Cruz is get recruiters off campus

It's part of a revitalized anti-war thing we've started. I admit I'm more hopefull of success after reading this
