York's always been noted for protests of all kinds. People with extremely charged political agendas always make their voice all the more louder at York.
But on thursday of this week, as protestors were demonstrating in the front hall (Vari Hall) against corporations and their influence on the campus, police took out their batons and beat some peaceful protestors. The police tried to tell everyone that they needed to use excessive force, but they didn't need to. In the end, 5 were arrested with one person being sent to hospital.
The situation didn't need police intervention, it was a peaceful protest that was escalated by the cops.

This link has pictures AND videos. I was at the protest yesterday, where thousands attended as well. Unfortunately, I'm in none of the pictures, lol.
