i am currently a junior in high school, if your in the age group the time to start changing things is now. are you going to wait until your generation has completely screwed up the country becuase we were wrapped up in mtv, clothing and force fed media
[email protected]$ ?. go to your friends, intellectuals, peers, whoever you choose but i have started to organize a small group of intelligent friends. even though they are starting out small, learning the basics of socialism and communism, any small uprising or change will benefit us. We cant just sit around any more and let our generation go to north korea or iran or wherever our crusading future president decides to take us. i wont be a killing machine for imperialism, will you? i have started in a extremely conservative, capitalist bush city in ohio, mobilize yourelf and your generation. if you heard the inauguration speech today you understand where im coming from. have a nice day.

I'm not the only one ;),
I'm a high schooler as well, organized together a very small group of left wing minded students, we try to promote our views and gain more revolutionaries, its actually quite hard, the high school is in La Jolla, one of the richest neighborhoods in the world, so most students are just ignorant consumer whores who are already interested in MTV.
But theres is a few of us who decide to think differently! :hammer:

This is good to hear, we havent gone public yet but im pretty sure the reaction will be slow. it will take resolve for our members to keep up effort but if you really truly believe in the cause then nothing can sway you but death. NOTE: stop wearing damn che guevara t-s unless you actually know about him or his teachings. its a fad that shits on his memory.

I don't wear them, but you what is fun? Ask people who are wearing them if they knew who Che was, and when they ask, watch their expression on their face when you tell them he was a Communist.

Im in high-school,too.
But it is very hard to convince someone to this ideas.
They are not just ignorant, they have a pessimistic view of the things and are fully convinced that changes are only a dream or can turn onto something bad.
Anyway,I try.

It takes practice, if you can introduce them to Historical Materialism (I usaully do it through drawings) and get them interested and asking questions, theres a good chance you can win them over.

That sounds so easy...you make drawings?Well,it is a try worth,..to historical materialism first? Why not?Sounds logical...but what if they all or at least many think that the "green"party and their thoughts are enough?
Anyway,...IŽll keep on trying till I win someone over. ;)

about the che shirts, yea, i'll usually get a question or two like 'DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHO THAT IS' and i'll be like 'do you have any idea what socialism is?' and they'll usually shut up, my friend even thought of a better one, someone asked him who he was wearing and he said he didn't know and to tell him who he was, the guy said 'he was a cuban..' and he cut him off there and said 'no, he was argentinian' owned
^_^
heh, but anyway, as posted in the other thread, i'm all for this idea.

Well, Che was born Argentinian, but when the socialist government took over, Che received Cuban citizenship.

What I mean is try to illustrate how the working class is exploited through wage slavery, explain the production of capital as well. Later, once they understand how they are exploited, then move on to the big picture of how class struggle has defined the course of history.

How do you do that?
"this is tim, he is a super-exploited proletarian"
"and this is "big willy", a multi-billionaire, which exploit tim"
"this is how hitherto existence between humans have existed"

I wish you luck on your group! I have a VERY small group, except it's just me and two other people. We're pretty much aiming for the same thing you're after.

Ok im from new zealand so i dont know what jonur high means, what ages is it between and when dose high school finish in the states. Im in the 5th form this year, meaning it is my 3rd year at high school, and im 14.
I find that most of our generation are so intranced with pop cultrue, getting laid and material objects that they dont take notice hipocricy of there nation.
The other thing is that all young radical leftist must balnce action with theory. Don't just learn about che and cuba. The failings of russia and chaina and the basic there of marx and engles shuold all be learn.
And never refuse an argument with a hardcore cappie, white power or and anti commie. Teachers are good to argue with and pig headed jocks are as so good. And never back down from a fight, pain never killed anyone (think about it, it's true).
Tahts all from me, thanks.

i havent read the rest of the thread, but i agree with this statement, but can't help feel a hyppocrite. i celebrate christmas (not the original meaning; but presents, etc), but do not care about christianity.
its the same as people wearing che t shirts without knowing who he is.
