I do love music. But I ain't into singers who have political orientation....I used to go Combat18.com to listen to their bullshit and ........ You can understand my hate to political bands.

I also hate RATM.....don't ask me why

But recently I came through this song of Eminem because some of my friends said if I was a singer it definately would have been mine because of my hate of GWB. what do you think, did Eminem do a Good job?

here is the lyrics for the song
__________________________________________________ __________________

"Mosh"

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America
And to the Republic for which it stands
One nation under God
Indivisible...
It feels so good to be back..

I scrutinize every word, memorize every line
I spit it once, refuel and re-energize and rewind
I give sight to the blind, my insight through the mind
I exercise my right to express when I feel it's time
It's just all in your mind, what you interpret it as
I say to fight, you take it as I'mma whip someone's ass
If you don't understand, don't even bother to ask
A father who has grown up with a fatherless past
Who has blown up now to rap phenomenon that has
Or at least shows no difficulty multi-task
And in juggling both perhaps mastered his craft
Slash entrepreneur who has helped launch a few more rap acts
Who's had a few obstacles thrown his way through the last half
Of his career typical manure moving past that
Mr. kisses ass crack, he's a class act
Rubber band man, yea he just snaps back

[Chorus:]
Come along follow me as I lead through the darkness
As I provide just enough spark that we need to proceed
Carry on, give me hope, give me strength
Come with me and I won't steer you wrong
Put your faith and your trust as I guide us through the fog
To the light at the end of the tunnel
We gonna fight, we gonna charge, we gonna stomp, we gonna march
Through the swamp, we gonna mosh through the marsh
Take us right through the doors (c'mon)

All the people up top on the side and the middle
Come together lets all bomb and swamp just a little
Just let it gradually build from the front to the back
All you can see is a sea of people some white and some black
Don't matter what color, all that matters we gathered together
To celebrate for the same cause don't matter the weather
If it rains let it rain, yea the wetter the better
They ain't gonna stop us they can't, we stronger now more than ever
They tell us no we say yea, they tell us stop we say go
Rebel with a rebel yell, raise hell we gonna let em know
Stomp, push, shove, mush, Fuck Bush, until they bring our troops home (c'mon)

[Chorus]

Imagine it pouring, it's raining down on us
Mosh pits outside the oval office
Someone's tryina tell us something,
Maybe this is god just sayin' we're responsible
For this monster, this coward,
That we have empowered
This is Bin Laden, look at his head noddin'
How could we allow something like this without pumping our fists
Now this is our final hour
Let me be the voice in your strength and your choice
Let me simplify the rhyme just to amplify the noise
Try to amplify the times it, and multiply by six...
Teen million people, Are equal at this high pitch
Maybe we can reach alqueda through my speech
Let the president answer a higher anarchy
Strap him with an Ak-47, let him go, fight his own war
Let him impress daddy that way
No more blood for oil, we got our own battles to fight on our own soil
No more psychological warfare, to trick us to thinking that we ain't loyal
If we don't serve our own country, we're patronizing a hero
Look in his eyes its all lies
The stars and stripes, they've been swiped, washed out and wiped
And replaced with his own face, Mosh now or die
If I get sniped tonight you know why,
Cause I told you to fight.

[Chorus]

And as we proceed,
To Mosh through this desert storm,
In these closing statements, if they should argue
Let us beg to differ
As we set aside our differences
And assemble our own army
To disarm this Weapon of Mass Destruction
That we call our President, for the present
And Mosh for the future of our next generation
To speak and be heard
Mr. President, Mr. Senator
Do you guy's hear us...hear us...[laughing] (Hailie)

I don't get it. You say you used to go to combat18.com to listen to music, which you refer to as bullshit. I can only assume that it somehow related to the fascist organization combat 18. Why in the world would you purposely subject yourself to such crap? And then because you seem to hate the fascist music there you now reject all political music, with the exception of one crappy m&m song? I'm puzzled to say the least.

I'm inferring that english is not your native language so perhaps something is being lost in the translation.

Presumably you don't like RATM because they are/were "political", you gave that away in your opening statement.

I USED to go to Combat18.com.... Not because I'm a facist but because it was something that came in a way while I was looking for 'good music'. later I found out they were facists and stuff.

Anyhow, I don't like political music because for me it is like more of an attempt of Ideology Masquerading or trying to sell their music by identifying with an Idea or a political figure. Just like what RATM did with CHE.

I would want to be guided to a place where I could find good political music, if there is any.

You wanna know why I hate RATM, well here it is,.... That is because I don't like the way they sound.

I hope you have all your questions answered

But , I have to concur with you on what you said about m&m.

RATM are an acquired taste I still haven't gotten used to. I judge bands from their music. A lot of bands I like are political, but a lot aren't. Take it as it comes, political music is not a genre.

I can certainly understand that someone might not like the sound of RATM and how they seemed to exploit the icon of Che, but at the same time I think a lot of people probably found out who he was as a result of them using his image. Shit in Cuba you can get Che's picture on damn near anything.

Anyway for some suggestions on political music see this thread:
http://www.revolutionaryleft.com/index.php?showtopic=29215

There have been a few others too if you look back.

I took a look at the combat18 page. How could anyone spend more than 10 seconds there and not realize it was nazi shit?

Anyway welcome to this forum and I hope you find some good music to listen to.

What are some of your favorites, then maybe we could point you towards some good political stuff.

I know man. I admit that. I know they helped to introduce Che to the people. But at the same time, they made money from his image. But I know there are a lot of people who got introduced to Che by that album or those Che Guevara T-shirts,.. I have had classmates ask me who is that cute guy in my t-shirt is. I have to admit that those things were almost promotional packages.

I been listening to your Radio Station, ... Cool Music.

Lol, the irony of it! The capitalisation of Che's image can lead to more communists! It seems very in fashion nowadays to have a pic of Che. In fact, I'd seen the picture of him for years and years but the first time I can remember hearing his name was less than a year ago! Honest! Hmm...I have a kinda sad story you'll all think stupid so I won't say it right now...maybe later...It concerns the capitalisation of communism.

The capitalisation of Che's image can lead to more communists......... But they are most definetly gonna be Image consious people. I wouldn't dare call them communists.....

And they won't care what Che did, except admire his looks.

I s'pose, maybe a better term would be "more followers" than "communists"

Heh. You don't like trying new stuff do you? What about the Streets? Zearle? Just Jack? Eminem's Stan? Looks to me like you categorize stuff far too much.

Shit like that annoys me, discounting a whole genre of music, just like that (unless we're talking techno in its various forms, insert smiley thingy). I'm not a huge hip hop fan but I do appreciate it, Public Enemy (who you did mention), KRS-1, Steve Zearle, Michael Franti and his various bands (Beatnigs, Disposable Heroes..., and Spearhead), Dead Prez, the Coup, Marxman, Ice-T, Sage Francis and some others all have some good stuff to say. Don't be so quick to dismiss so much great music because you only know the shitty commercial stuff.

Indeed. Steve Zearle is amazing (note: he is not at all related to Steve Earle to my knowledge but his name may derive from the country ledgend's).

Man, the only reason why I don't like those guys is because I don't like hiphop that much. Only that.... and I don't caagorize.

The Forum Idiot

Yea...Of course you don't *so much sarcasm the sarcasm detector explodes*
