He wanted to fire the missiles at the amerikkkans!!!

He was very angry when the Soviets took the missiles without them knowing, and he supposedly said he would have fired them off at the u$. Don't know much more than that.

Are you sure about that...*Paradox* I mean, I know the guy was very much against the U.S. and all, but was he willing to bring down the U.S. even if it meant nuclear war, and not to mention the thousands if not millions of lives it might have costed(innocent or not)???

Do you have a copy of Jon Lee Anderson's book on Che? The quote is mentioned in that book. I don't think he really would have fired the missiles off, he was just really angry that Soviets made a deal with the amerikans without notifying Fidel.

I think Paradox is right. According to Jon Lee Anderson book, che would have fired the missles,. It was after that the Cubans started saying Nikita Marquita ... If I am not mistaken.

But then again, I might be.

No...but I believe that Anderson's book is one of the more reliable sources on Che out there...

Well I got an Idea...

How about reading all the books tha Che wrote himself and ask yourself "Does this seem like the type of man to do something like this?"

I dont really like the "What did this dead person think of this situation?" questions Cause you never really know what a dead mans perspectives are unless you were to kill yourself and ask him then...Im pretty sure Anderson didnt know Che personally...So his answer to this question is anything but reliable...It is Possible?...Yes...But is this answer 100% accurate? No

Not even the Bible is accurate...What makes yall think Anderson's book is?

You make a good point there, but did I say that Anderson's book was totally accurate? No! I said it was one of the more reliable sources on Che. Of course noting is better than Che himself perhaps (but even that we would have to doubt, especially after seeing Sacreficio).

It's pretty much common knowledge that Che at least said he wanted to use the nukes on the US. A google seach for "Che Guevara" should come up with at least a few sites stating as much. Whether or not he would have 'gone through with it' is another question. Nobody could ever know either way.

I think JudgeKure is in a bit of denial about El Commandante, though.

In 'Guerilla Warfare' (or one of the extras printed in it) he says that the missiles were vital for the defence ot Cuba.

Well, If I am not mistaken JLA got into a lot of pressure from different sides about the Book. But he said that in this book, my obligations are only to che guevara alone.

I think he gave that in the book intoroduction.

uve got very good information on ches role in cuban revolution, his views on women, his ideas on guerilla warfare...etc.. i consider his role in the missile crisis as important if not more important than most things he has done in his lifetime.. i wonder why there isnt enough info on it as there is on the points ive listed before for example?
