A New Newbie!

Hello Everyone!

I just found this Forum and I registered because I am curious about Communism.
I thought I should come and learn from the experts!

I like the idea of Communism. Everyone being equal and having the same rights and priviliges as everyone else.
Im not a Communist myself but I am definately sympathetic.

I have a question though. Is it true that Communists want to see the end of Religion and wipe it out? I have heard that Stalin persecuted the Russian Orthodox Church a lot and made life miserable for Christians in Soviet Russia. I am a Christian myself and it effects every part of my life.
I think any mass murders against religious folk is uncalled for and unnessesary.
I hope Communists dont think of Religious people as class enemies!

Yes Stalin did hate the church and purge them BUT none of us here are Stalinists, If you ask me Stalin was a disgrace to the word communist, thats why many communists like us have been given a bad name. Were not stalinists as i said before, many of us are Anarchists, Communist, Socialists and we are all trying to promote a better opertunity for our next generation were they will not be exploited or repressed by the state. I dont like the term you use by WIPE out Religion. But we see the Catholic church especially as a tool of maintaining class oppression.

I suggest you read in the learners forum about Communism and Anarchism. You will find things useful there, if your wanting to ask any of us comrades a question. :)

Welcome. I myself am not against religion just authoritarian religious institutions. You should be able to believe whatever you want. Welcome to the forums. Have fun and learn all you can. :)

I share that sentiment also. No to authoritarian religion but yes to freedom of personal religious belief. As comrade Donnie said, Stalin was truly a disgrace to Commuism and the socialist ideal. He was really bad. As the other comrades said:
