When one thinks of revolution, familiar images usually pop up. Whether they are Che Guevara's face or Yankee minute men shooting at British soldiers through the woods, these images hold with them strong emotions of change and revolution. Unfortunately, human beings by nature are followers. When a poor man gets harassed by the police, instantly he wants to emulate the actions of the Black Panther's. Or, when a farmer is thrown off his land in Columbia, instantly, he must be like Che. That's the problem we face today. You see, revolution is not an emulation of past formulas. Revolution, by definition, is a drastic change in the way of thinking. To become a revolutionary you must find revolution in your heart, not in your history books. In order for revolution to be successful, a radical shift must take place in your very soul. No longer do the rules they taught you in school apply. The rules you find to be true and good are true and good. In other words, you must create revolution from the very pits of your creative soul, not from your rational mind. The founders of all modern monotheistic religions, Christ, Muhammad, and Moses all had to create their religion without any help from others. Their ideas were original and unique, so to must be the revolutionaries. Instead of God, let your injustices guide you. And instead of a book of fairy tales, let your legacy be in the blood of the streets and the smoke of the gun. Let not your mind be confined by the limitations society has cast upon you like shackles and chains. For truly, we are all one people, and the sooner we realize that the sooner were free.

I have a chapter in my book titled "What It Means to be Revolutionary" -- I'd post it here, but it's incomplete at the moment and not very well edited.
