13th Ammendment

Okay, from what I've read on the 13th Ammendment. The military draft and selective service should not exist. Where is the loop hole?

The U.S. Constitution (and all laws, for that matter) do not necessarily mean what they seem to say in plain language.

As one lawyer put it: "The constitution means what the Supreme Court says it means."

It is very rare for the Supreme Court to stand up to the Executive or the Legislative branches of government...and when it does, it's usually over trivial matters.

Conscription is not "trivial"...so it's long been upheld in the interests of "national security".
