Respect to NOVA for making this freely downloadable, etc, etc.:

You should note that for most of you who know basic physics/mathematics and even philosophy, it won't become really interesting until the last hour.
Theory of 11 different dimensions... That's pretty revolutionary. Discuss.

We went over this for awhile in my physics class. I have to admit my teacher put it over my wavering math/science abilities. Thanks for more info on it!

I saw some of this program it was really good. But it doesn't want to work for me just at the moment :(.
I hate string theory. 11 dimensions, bah. I'ld much rather have a infinity of them.
Note, this may well be because I don't knew enough about it to actually have a decent converstation about it.

Its 10 dimensions you fool.
Lemme find the mathmatical proof that proves it, its in that book "Hyperspace", a must read.

Ehhh, no. That was what they first came up with, but it was later recalculated and they found the strings needed 11 dimensions. I propose seing the actual series for more info on this.

Had no idea bout this stuff till now. Interesting one. let me do more reading bout it and then i'll get back to you. With some questions ofcourse:)

Isn't it now 10 dimensions, then 16 more which for some reason they have crammed into 1, making 11 dimensions.

Maybe. I don't know.

I love string theory particularly Eucryptic universes...I believe that is the correct spelling. For all intensive purposes lets call them cyclical universes

I do not have time to watch all those movies right now, but that looks cool as hell all that stuff.
Do you think it is worthy of being stuck?

Well, you can learn alot of physics and philosophical mathematics by it, so I guess that would be a good idea, Raisa.

Interesting.
Theoritical physics is the love my life, thanks for the videos!

Nobody should openly admit to Theoretical Physics being the love of their lives

Currently it is, since my human relationships broke down about 2 weeks ago.

Theoretical mathematics is the love of mine, so don't feel alone Zingu... ;)

Don't have time to watch the movies either, and even if I did, this chair is uncomfortable, so I wouldn't anyway. But I'm interested in this though I don't know much about Physics. Anyway, I have a question. What is the difference between the Superstring Theory and the M-Theory4?
