I'm not exactly new to the subject, but i would like to find out more ive read information on Communism, Marxist theory etc from text books etc, but which are the best books to start reading. (if you get my drift)

Get yourself a copy of Marx and Engles' Communist Manifesto. Read it through a few times, hang about here for a while. After that you should be in a position to decide what else you want to read yourself...

The stickied threads up above should be useful too, and there's a reading list in, I think, Litrature and Film, though that's maybe a bit daunting...

hmmm well the communist manifesto for one, then there's books by Noam Chomsky, State and Reveloution by Lenin, The Anarchist Cookbook Capital by Marx, and whole bunch other check out www.ratm.com and click on reading list

Of course there is also the beautiful "CHE"...I enjoy biographies and auto's...Malcolm X's biography, Gandhi, stuff like that. But then again, I'm just a novis also

Yes i must say i like to read biographies and secondairy literature also very much... Gives you some theory on a very easy way.
Ofcourse read marx, personally i don't like reading lenin very much.
And if you're a socialist more than an anarchist or communist, the little books of the socialist workers party are very easy to read, but it must be your thing.
The red book of mao i also enjoy........ there is just so much to read!
But i would start with marx and trotsky - trotsky.net

Read Peter Singer's MARX a very short introduction

You can cut through it in a day, and it's one of the best books I've ever read on the man himself, but also on how he formed his ideas.
