For me it's RHCP on the live in Hyde Park CD when you get the echo of the crowd singing along with Under the Bridge.

Or when Pete and Carl do anything.

Probably Distortion 2002 which had some fantastic acts, like the Levellers, Idlewild and Greenday (who for the record were insanley good).

Shockingly one of the best live bands I have ever seen is Hundred Reasons. I even went out and bought one of their albums after that... which i hadn't now, but on stage they were amazing.

I've seen Biffy Clyro, they were great, Feeder rocked. I saw Aqualung play a local gig, they are rather good, though a bit slow for live music. I am also ashamed to say I've seen The Calling live, and they were shit, a real waste of money. Iggy Pop was at distortion, and he was bollocks, the day would have been 100% better had he not bothered turning up.

I'm going to see Greenday again in the summer, as they are playing a gig only 11 miles from where I live.

But I would say that the best is tied between Feeder, Greenday and the Levellers.

You may find this hard to believe but I have never seen them live. I've been going to see them live on several occasions, and each time for one reason or another never actually reached the stage of buying the tickets. usually because I couldn't get the time off either school, uni or work. Or because the people I was going with decided that they couldn't go.

The worst thing which has happened to me on that kind of score is when I was going to see placebo, and bought the tickets booked the b&b, caught the train all the way to folkstone only to discove it wasn't happening, because one of the bastards had broken his arm.

Jimi Hendrix at wood stock playing a solo on his teeth.

The Garbage Disposal Unit

Closet fucking Monster (Always. They are the most energetic live band ever, and prone to flying. They also tend to incite shoplifting and grafitti rampages.)

Leftover Crack @ L'X in Montreal wasn't half bad either:
"Cops kill people all the time, but nobody ever kills cops. This song is about killing cops."

Leftover Crack, Cracktoberfest 2004
After playing a great set of at least a dozen songs, many about killing cops, a small riot occurred after the show, in Tompkins Square Park, with fans throwing 40oz glass bottles at groups of police with their billy clubs drawn.

Having only been to about 3 proper gigs in my life, I'm going with Oasis.

@ Enigma, I saw them live at the Brighton Centre as part of the Lifeblood tour and it was great. I wasn't expecting them to play so much old stuff but it was a near perfect set. Only dissapointment was no Stay Beautiful and no Encore but oh well.

They are playing another tour in April, (unconfirmed atm) and I'd strongly recommend going.

If it does happen I will see what I can manage. But I dont want to go on my own though, I can imagine nothing more depressing.

In advance, I'm going to say seeing NIN live will be the greatest live moment. If they don't come to Ireland, I'm travelling abroad.

I saw them live at the London Arena and that was brilliant too.

Hmmmm, i'd definately have to say some of the best live acts I've seen are Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Slayer, Lamb of God, Fear Factory, Soulfly, System of a Down, T.S.O.L., D.I., Toxic Narcotic, etc.

Too many to name. :P
