Paradox

Now, I don't usually cuss on this forum, I try to be as respectful as possible, but this here just got me angry. Then again, I should have expected it from fox "news." Get a load of this bullshit:

So what’s our excuse when top-brand fashion houses sell out clothing with images of Che Guevara (search) on them? The familiar Che profile now adorns t-shirts, hats, and even, for a time, a one-piece baby outfit. And yet Fidel Castro’s right hand man had a hatred for freedom and the United States that rivaled Usama’s.

They had a report on fox news station earlier today, but I didn't catch it. But as you can see, it's the same old right-wing bullshit. Pisses you off, doesn't it.

If you want to read the whole piece, here's the link:

Yea, almost every thing besides (sometimes not true) the title are crap.

Only thing you can take in from them is the general idea of the story, but not relie on the details from them.

Holy Hell.. so this is where the guy that posted something in response to my article about historical misinformation about che firing nukes at the US got it from.. it was a cut and paste job.

For fuck's sake, the guy could've at least come up with something on his own.

This also explains the unbalanced number of right-wingers I thought seemed to suddenly reply to it.. che-lives is the first site to come up in their yahoo search!

Search engine: LookSmart found 0 results. The query sent was Che Guevara.
Search engine: WebCatalog found 0 results. The query sent was Che Guevara.
Search engine: Yahoo! found 10 results. The query sent was Che Guevara.

You know I read one of Che's major bios - can't remember which one but will find out to back this up - that during the Cuban Missile Crisis he'd have nuked Uncle Sam in a second if he had Fidel's authority & even if it wasn't backed by the Soviets.

The problem with "major bios" is that they're written for "major sales." They most often reflect the prevailing opinions of the subject rather than a complete analysis of his/her life. Still, I'd be curious as to what work it is you refer to.

The only source I have found for this statement is from Keith Payne, a noted right-wing extremist whose doctrine relies on the build-up of US nuclear warheads (and who unfortunately holds a very high office). He provides no source for this statement, as usual. Robert McNamera met with Fidel Castro personally, and it was established that Fidel and Che did not say that the nuclear missiles should be used to attack the US, but used as they were being used: as a deterrent to US invasion of cuba. Payne bases his argument of Che's "missile crazy doctrine" on the fact that che stated--unrelatedly--that he was willing to die as an example to the world, and if cuba had to die as a martyr against imperialism then it would. This is not news, as everyone damn well knows that che was willing to die a martyr.

It does not suggest that Che was warhead happy.

They are naturaly stating crap that is not true. More of the same brainwashing that the US goverment does to the people. That is why people hate Castro, Che and Communism without even reading a two paragraph summary on the topic. It pissed me off to the core. It is fucking sick what they sayd though.
