Does anyone else notice a communist influence in The Yellow Submarine? The part of the song that strikes the chord most obviously is when it goes.
And we live, a life of ease
everyone of us, has all we need.
Sky of blue, and sea of green,
In our yellow submarine.

I know it's hard to get a feel for it just reading the lyrics, so listen to the song and let me know what you think, thanks!

Yellow Submarine was about drugs.

No it wasn't, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds is about taking acid, a lot of people make the mistake of thinking yellow submarine is also about acid. A lot of people swallow the bullshit story they tried to use as an excuse, of it being about a picture John Lennons son made. I don't believe it for a second, he was clearly as high as a kite when he wrote that song.

Yellow Submarine is Ringo Star's tragic attempt at song writting, its only saving grace is that it was for kids.

Most songs Ringo sang are usually said to be his. That's not true, as what RZ posted shows.

They were as high as a kite when they wrote all that record.

And please stop this search of "X song is probably leftist because the lyrics say bla blah blah we are a bunch of hippies" thing. It makes us look as a bunch of stupid stoned teenagers that need to grow up and accept that communism is impossible because of human nature and blah blah blah. You get the point.

As I said above "Who cares?". If this is the major concern of so many people on this board, may they all go jump off a cliff, worthless pieces of shit :).

Hmm, I was wrong, but I have always understood that Ringo was responcible for this travesty. The fact it was McCartney makes it all the worse, how can the man who wrote "Yesterday" have written such a terrible song as "Yellow Submarine"?

How can Nicky Jones, man responsible (in part) for You Love Us and Stay Beautiful right a travesty like Know Your Enemy (give or take a few good songs)

Everyone has bad days I'm afraid.

Know your Enemy is actually a seriously under rated album.
