A Message From The Iraqi Resistance (http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article7468.htm)
This video is actually very good. The only down side to it is that they thank France and Germany, two other imperialist nations, and boalster using the Euro.

I loved the end where the guy says "And to George W. Bush you have asked us to bring it on. And so have we in a force you never would have imagined..."

Wow, just wow......
I wished CNN would display this.
They sound almost leftist, I can't believe it myself, but its so funny how us Leftists are sympathiec or even supportive of the right wing religous fundamentalist resistance.
Long live the Resistance!

While very few of the resistence groups have determined programmes, many of them are Islamic fundamentalists
BUT we support them in that they are an active (and effective) opposition to Imperialism.

Indeed. However not all are Islamists. Many of the resistance fighters come from poor, working class backgrounds and have very different political and religious ideologies. They all have come together to face a common enemy -- the imperialist militaries of the occupying countries.
I think the capitalist media over exaggerates this Islamic fundamentalist threat, especially since there's so many CIA agents in the country trying to instigate stuff between the people there. In the end I think it will only be a matter of time until the imperialists get their asses kicked just like they did in Vietnam. Once this happens the Iraqi's will decide what's in their best interest and not the interest of the imperialists. Having a puppet government in power will never bring about true democracy to Iraq.

The Iraqi resistance is first and foremost a nationalist movement aiming to kick an imperialist power out of their country.
Religion doesn't play as big a part as the media claims.
Most are motivated by Islam in the same way as most US soldiers are motivated by religion, in that they pray more when at war.

I agree. I think we should brainstorm on how we might be able to reach groups like this and those they appeal to. We should discourage the reactionary nationalist views and se if we can't get a sense of solidarity that this statement made me hope for.
This is however likely be considered a direct act of treason, so we would have to be careful with the approach, the state is always looking for excuses to silence advocates of the working class.
BTW, I am not sure that they weren’t thanking the people of France and Germany but I would support encouraging the progressive acts of their people and condemn their state powers.

That is a brilliant video. Really powerful. If I was in Iraq I would join the Resistance. Unfortunately I dont think many people will ever see it, or at least, not enough to change anything. And there is no way the U$ will allow their soldiers to see it so they are unlikely to be converted.

I thought that video was hilarious.Like someone said before the end was the best part of it.The US can't win not when people care this much about fighting for their country.

Almost a relief to see a video like this, however, i'm not sure that I buy it. No evidence as to where it came from, who is the british man translating or rereading the translated version, is the translated version accurate, and how credible is this website hosting it. Still very interesting to ponder the possibilities of a real current times insurgency takeing up arms with other movments (anti capitalist ect..). This speech kind of reminded me of essays and speaches given by the zapatistas. Bottom line is, quite interesting but I still don't buy it.

Very interesting.
"And to the American soldiers we say, you can also choose to fight tyranny with us. Lay down your weapons, and seek refuge in our mosques, churches and homes. We will protect you. And we will get you out of Iraq , as we have done with a few others before you."
Umm... How many soldiers do you think will do that? Are there reports of soldiers defecting?
"And the earlier a movement is born, the earlier their fall will be."
Yeah, we're all eager for them to fall. ;) It's still going to be a while before that happens though. But, like Zapata said, "Better to die on your feet than live on your knees."

I'm not sure that too many soldiers would take up arms against their governments (in this particular war) however quite a few have deserted or refused to fight. When we think of revolution in america or when we think of the american government getting out of hand lets not forget that the military is till made up of people with very diverse views. Not every marine is a gun toting redneck looking to kill any minority they can find. (I use marines as an example because of the common stereotype protrayed..) I was watching what I Believe was msnbc earlier today, (just to see the basics on what was happening today in the news) and al franken was a guest, he apparently did a recent interview of troops in iraq. He was saying that the lower ranking troops generally dodged the question of legitimacy reguarding the war however the officers were more blunt. One of the officers said he had to respect bush because he was the president but if he ever got rumsfeld in his crosshairs he wouldn't hesitate to squeeze off a few shots. Great to hear coming from the front lines, once again very reassuring that the US civilian population, as determined and successful as we might be as guerrillas, have similar thinkers in the forces.

We all know the American media is not fairly covering this war which is why they would never show this video. As time continues to pass and more people get killed, morale among the American troops will continue to decline until their "resolve" to keep fighting is totally usurped. Its another defeat for the Imperialist US as it didn't even bother to reflect about its defeat in Vietnam.

I dont see the problem in sending them the video. Increases coverage from the under-represented Iraqi resistance. As for soldiers defecting, there was an american one who did the same as the Lebanese one you were talking about. It was on the BBC a while back. He got court marshalled.

I would like to think that you all have stopped and thought about this video. 1 it may be propaganda, 2 it might be fake. if neither of those two extremes, the truth lies somewhere in the middle between them. Not flamming anyone personally, it just seems almost embarassing that you all are jumping on this like a 15 year old would on a new nike commerical on mtv. This forum is about thought, even if that thought criticizes your movment. Once again, not flamming anybody or looking for a forum fight, just an observation.

I do know that that video is true about there being more deaths than they say. The second largest force in the country is mercenaries and they often don't show their deaths on the news.

I saw this clip being played on tv news (can't remember which network it was but it actually might have been fox  , seriously) I saw the part where they're zeroing the mortar and what not and laughed. So it appears to actually exist and it is not some internet dub over a propaganda video. I guess this is good news I bring. *shrug*
