i gave him a chance when a friend of mine first told me of him. i watched one show (or half of it), and decided i didnt like him. he brings people on the show to debate, but doesnt allow them to speak, interupting them constatntly. i saw one show in which he said not having the ROTC program in a college because of a ban thats been in place since the veitnam war was anti-american. i just laughed. another bad one is that alan keyes guy. dont like him much either.

yea, he also edits the show to make everyone else sound dumb or cold so that he looks good/ they look bad

Yes, he is rather smart but the thing is he never fucking listens and hardly gives others a chance to state their opinion or object to his. It is his show but if he really wants to impress his viewers, I would like to see him let his "victims" speak so he has something to argue against rather than asuming what they are going to state. You can't possibly have an argument if you don't give someone else a chance to argue against/with you. How i see it he just has an argument with himself...

exactley. He never listens to people always cuts them off.
I hate that ass hole
The thing is he's a good debater but he also edits the show to his benifeit plus he never lets people talk

I would destroy O'Reilly in a debate. Many times I find myself agreeing with the man, however the differences are significant. I like his no spin style, but why does he feel the need to do celebrity news? The way he confronts people and holds them accountable for their viewpoints is unprecedented. No other media outlet uses that tactic and is the sole reason for his popularity. I read his book "The No Spin Zone" and found it to be extremely 'pithy', often times dumbed down and missing crucial parts of his philosophy.

i like O'Reily ,as it goes.I watch the show if i 'm up when it's on.
He Blasts through alot of the Liberal Crap that comes out in the media.
I don't trust him any further than i can throw him and he is on the wrong team, but he does have some intresting and accurate things to say
I'll have alook out for his book

I like O'Riely, and I dislike him.
I like him because he does his homework before getting in the argument with another person. I like him because he is a strong debater. I like him because he advocates no-spin (even though he does).
I don't like him because he has preconceived ideas about the entire subject. His style of arguing is that of an inquisition. He gets his information, decides his point of view, gets someone who differs with him, and roasts that person. He too often doesn't let the other person speak because he (always) wants to back the person up in a corner.

this is why I don't like him.

His show "the O' Riely Factor" is the most watched I think. It's an ok show, but I believe that a reform of mainstream news media is needed.
Watch the talk shows, the go to commondreams and read the articles. There is an enormous difference in the in-depth analysis, the intellectual points, and the overall argument. After you have read some of those articles, and you have seen the differences with the talk shows, you will realize that the people who solely rely on the mainstream news are complete idiots.
It's a terrible thing, I think the only good one was Politically Incorrect. That was a damn good show, and I regret not watching it enough. The only mainstream person talk show host I would recommend is Geraldo Rivera. He is a good person. They took away his original show because of something he said.
While the whole mainstream media of America was showing the horrors of the palestinian attacks on Israel, Geraldo was in Gaza, and the West Bank, gathering information of the horrors of the Israeli attacks. The last time they broadcasted him, he stated "...I am a palestinian."
He was referring to the terror that he experienced in Palestine. That got him in trouble, so they kept him in Palestine for awhile, canceling his show. But now I guess everything is allright and they let him back on.
I WANT EVERYONE TO WATCH "The Pulse"!!!!!!!!! It's airing on Thursday on Fox. It's going to have O'Riely, Geraldo, and some other guy to discuss all the current events. I think it will be cool, and you can see the differences between the good and bad guy.

I have overall negative views to O'Reilly and Fox News. I don't like Fox for lying about being "fair and balanced" while pushing a nationalistic and conservative slant on every issue by just about every anchor.
O'Reilly specifically I do not hate. I find the man quite funny in a 'laugh with' manner quite oftenly. I also agree with him on more of his views than most members on this board. I am one of the few members who is not a liberal extremist (on non-economic issues that is), and for example I found myself in agreement with him on the Corruption of the American child special.
Field, I will watch The Pulse, I hate to admit it, but I consider myself a Fox News addict.

Nateddi, say it aint so...... Come on fox news is nothing more than a conservative organization.
Rupert Murdock is a conservative asshole.
If it weren't for the Simpsons I wouldn't watch fox.
I can understand that you aren't as liberal as I however Fox News is overly conservative. It has no need to be so anti liberal.
I would respect Bill O' Rielly more if he relied on his talent during debate instead of badgering people and refusing to let them get a word in

as I said before, I disagree with most of his views, and a lot with his overall debating tactics. I don't completely disagree with him, and on certain things I find him funny. I like him and find him funny similar to how I like Bush. I consider him my enemy but don't look at him with steam coming out of my ears either.

8th July 2002, 00:29
oh so its the steam thing that we differ on.
I find Bush funny in the way that
1. he's a moron
2. he hasn't been arrested for squatting in the white house, technicaly he isn't supposed to be there
3. he's a moron

well, I have no doubt that the presidency is no longer a position of high power. I don't think it's premature to call bush a moron, but I would wait for his speech on corporate ethics to call him a real bastard.
haha Nateddi, I think I know why you came back... The Lyceum is just way to big now. Crazy renovation to the original board.
I did agree with O' Riely on the Corruption of the American child. I think that was his best topic.
