Young Left presents:
Cafe Che: Reopen the Spot NOW!
Fund Raising event for the KWYC
THE SPOT IS CLOSED - KW YOUTH COLLECTIVE FIGHTS ON
On May 20th, after 3 years of being open, the Spot officially
closed. It simply became too difficult for us to raise our $910
rent every month. It was a sad day for us, but we know that it is
only a matter of time before we save up enough money to rent at a
new location.
With the closing of The Spot in May, services that we use to
provide are no longer available, most important being, a safe space
for youth to hang out where we are free to discuss and solve our
problems that we are facing. We have shown to the city through the
3 years of the existence of The Spot that young people can run
there own place and a youth run drop in center is not just an
illusion but a practical reality
COME OUT, SHOW SUPPORT, HELP REOPEN THE SPOT!
Speakers from the KWYC / OCAP / ARA
Hip-Hop From Genetix, Freestyle battle/Open Mic
Spoken Word from Wakefield Brewster, Ernest Carter, El Machetero
Other performances
DJ / music / drinkz / chillin'
