Hi, I am a university student in Mississippi, a veritable hotbed of the worst kind of conservatism. I am here because I accept the general Marxist critique (to the extent that one can speak of such a general critique) of capitalist society. So far, I only know a teensy bit about Marxism, but I want to learn more. I generally call myself a "radical leftist" because I feel like that phrase encapsulates my extreme, anti-oppressive politics without wedding me to something with which I am not yet familiar. My favorite Marxist, thus far, is Paulo Freire...his book Pedagogy of the Oppressed is my bible, and I want to read more of his stuff. That's about all I can think of now...looking forward to becoming acquainted with everyone! :)
