Transition from socialism to capitalism

I am looking for facts and statistics regarding the transition from socialism to capitalism. I am also interested in living standards, health, purchasing power, security, "human rights", "freedom" and how the transition changed the life of regular people.


I guess it is best to set focus on the Eastern European countries.
