View Full Version : Ghosts, Do You Think They're Real?
Paradox

Has anyone seen the show "Ghost Hunters" on the SCI-FI channel? What do you make of all the equipment they use to detect ghosts? They check for temperature changes, record on digital voice recorders, and all this other equipment trying to prove or disprove that something (supposedly ghosts) are present in people's homes. On the voice recorders they try to pick up "EVPs," or electronic voice phenomenon. I've seen episodes where they've picked up voices saying things like "They don't want us here," or "I miss Adam." Is all this stuff real, or are they just making it up? Can they really detect "ghosts?" Or maybe I should ask if ghosts are real. What do you think? Both my mother and father have claimed that they've seen ghosts. My father even said he told a ghost in our house to "go away." Perhaps they are real.

I dont know what to think about ghosts.
Its hard for me to think they can write messages on pictures not having brains.
But I wont doubt "ghosts' entirely because we secrete all kinds of energy when we are dead.

Ghosts don't exist because there is no life after death, for there is no soul.

People's so insane that they believe every fairytale. There's about as much evidence (or should I say "lack of evidence"?) for the existence of ghosts than that for the existence of Gods, demons, aliens, the soul, "auras", and other paranormal crap that a bunch of "gifted" people claim to understand/see/know/have control or access over.

Actually what they go in and try to do is try and disprove the repots. There is great thinking in this where if you take out everything that it could be, and not try and prove on what is seams to be, and you are still left with things that are unaswered, like some of the EVPs, the apperision in the prison episode, the chair moving in the light tower episode. It still is in question of what it was but you know what it can not be.

Ghosts are hallucinations brought on by 'spooky surroundings', altered mental states including grief, sleeplessness, and wishful thinking, overactive imaginations etc.
'Electronic voices' are merely an audible form of Pareidolia (http://skepdic.com/pareidol.html)
It's all superstitious crap.

And I'm supposed to believe it? They have taken pictures of UFOs before, you know. Am I supposed to believe that they are interestellar transportation devices of an advanced alien race?
No.

I definitely believe in ghosts! I feel theres too much evidence to say otherwise! Plus my mother can communicate with them, so i cant exactly doubt it as ive seen it with my own eyes.

If your mum is "communicating" with ghosts she's a wacko, kid.

Some people have abilities that others don't, maybe you can communicate with ghosts but you abilities are not as developed. If a person's family has an extended history with a certain situation there adaptations/evolutionary path may be different from yours, i.e. light and dark skinned people.

so many people say "oh their cant be ghost because theirs no proof that they exist so that immediatly means that we should stop looking and close our minds to anything different."
this is retarded and backwards thinking, if we actually did this then communism would not exist because no one would listen to marx since their is no proof it would work!
there may be know proof they do, but theirs no proof they dont!
i do believe in ghosts, but not in the hyped up hollywood sense. :che:
as for your mom Ĉħé_Ĝűĕ i dont think that anyone can communicate with ghosts nor can they be seen, photographed or heard. they also cannot affect our world in anyway.
(yes thats it ghosts are moving the remote just to piss you off, makes perfect sense to me)

I personally don't believe in ghosts, but theres certainly enough evidence to say that it isnt completely unreasonable. Plenty of trustworthy people claim to have seen them, and from what i've read, there seems to be a lot of different kinds of them. And if they exist, then its not entirely unreasonable to believe that you communicate with them. Altough, why would you want to talk to a dead guy? I think most people who claim to communicate with the dead are just liars who can make a bit of money off someone else's grief. but, I could be wrong.
