Hi comrades and other forum members,
My name is Bas de Ruiter. I am 22 years old and live in a southern province of the Netherlands, called Noord-Brabant.
I am a member of the Dutch Socialist Party (http://www.sp.nl/en/) and her youth organisation ROOD (reformist; social-democratic) as well as a member of the dutch section of the CWI (http://www.socialistworld.net), called Offensief (http://www.offensief.nl).
I am a revolutionary socialist (trotskist), and therefore I base my socialist analysis on the scientific socialism of Marx, Engels, Lenin and Trotski.
The reason that I'm also active within a social-democratic party that calls itself socialist, is because untill now this party has proven to be a real alternative in the eyes of people who want to end the undisputed rule of capitalism and therefore this is a excellent base for meeting people and discussing with them about true socialism and protest with them against all kinds of injustice caused by capitalism.
The CWI wants to build a world wide workers' movement and our Dutch section is therefore also active within unions, as am I.
This is a short introduction about me. The reason that I became a socialist is because I couldn't stand the inequality in the world with regard to the spread of wealth.
