Che would likely shoot you for being entirely counter-revolutionary for just thinking about it :P And then he'd smoke another cigar and shoot someone else. Kinda like gang thugs in the US, except he wouldn't take your shoes. He'd burn them.
But really.. shoes? Aren't we supposed to at least *try* not to succumb to the fetishism of commodities here?

Che describes a good pair of shoes as vital to the Guerilla fighter in his book 'Guerilla Warfare', therefore I do not believe he considers shoes to be commodities lol
On a more serious note though, this thread is pretty bollocks. :P
If I had to say what sort of shoes he would wear though, I believe they would be unbranded hiking boots lol

I think Che would have worn Hightop Black UpTowns (Airforce ones for the people who dont know)...
Mainly because they prevent your ankles from twisting...and because they are extremely stylish ;)

Che would have chosen neither Nike or Adidas. He would have chosen NEW BALANCE. I base this because NEW BALANCE is the ONLY major U.S sneaker brand still manufacturing in America. Most others have fled to China, Indonesia, and Vietnam where they exploit workers.
The people who make New Balance in the States make about $12 an hour, compared with 40 cents an hour for a worker in mainland China.
Personally, I boycott anything made by Nike.

Dr. Martens, no question about it.
JudgeKure
8th January 2005, 15:40
^^EWWWWW...Dr.Martens?
No damnit...Nikes
And $12 an Hour is ALOT of money...thats an incredible amount of money...If you get paid more then that then I really respect you
I dont think they get paid that much cause New Balance isnt exactly the most popular sneaker in the world...Accually its FAR from it...I dont even think Nike considers it a compettitor

The All Stars brand is owned by Nike; and Adidas use kangaroo skin to make some of their football boots so screw that. Che would've made his own shoes from bio-degradable stuff. Still, what even made this whole Che wearing shoes thing ever cross anyone's mind?
JudgeKure
12th January 2005, 19:31
actually it crossed my mind a few months ago
And I dont think Che would have cared if a Sneaker was made out of an Animals skin...
And I didnt know that Converse (All Stars) were owned by Nike...Thats news to me...Imma have to look that up
JudgeKure
12th January 2005, 19:40
Nah man Im sure that Converse isnt Owned by Nike
As a matter of fact...Converse was out before Nike...by like 10 or 15 years
"Converse, America’s Original Sports Company™
More than shoes, Converse is a story of legends, heroes and innovators tied together by the love of sport. Established by Marquis M. Converse in 1908, Converse is an American athletic shoe brand with nearly a century of authentic sports history and footwear innovation under its laces.
Through its innovations, leadership and contributions to the evolution and popularity of basketball, tennis, turf and track, Converse has forever fused itself with the heritage and soul of American sports. An industry standard for generations, Converse is "America's Original Sports Company.” Its rich heritage includes the shoe that revolutionized the game of basketball and would later become a favorite worldwide, the Chuck Taylor® All Star®"
Im pretty sure its its own business

Converse is older than Nike but Nike bought them out. I was very frustrated when I discovered my Chuck Taylors were made by some starving Chinese kid

I think this was a sign that this thread is useless. And I'm inclined to agree. But, for humor's sake, what the hell!! Someone said New Balance shoes are still made in the u$, which I think is misleading. I remember reading that NOT ALL of their shoes are made here. Apparently some are made overseas but from amerikan materials, or something like that. Either way, they're still too damn expensive, and I can't afford them!!!

you do know Fidel wears black Nike runners.
Kinda odd that he'd do that if he were a socialist...I mean, if he's a professed anti-capitalist, why wear sweatshop material?
Maybe there's some truth to him being a Machiavellian leader...which was my stance all along. :)

This thead had an actual point, but apparently very few people cared to notice it.
The point of this thread was that this forum absolutely reeks of groupie-ism. Everything is "Che was so grand" and "Was che really a poet too?" and "Would che like Fahrenheit 9/11?". That's not what this forum should be about.

An amusing side note that is humorous! Adidas recently opened a mega store in Nike Town where Phil Knight started not a mile from his high school :D
Corporate Warfare's a *****, Jennifer Government like the book says, let them wipe themselves out and stay out of the way :D
It'd be funny if Nike headquarters tried to sabatoge the Adidas store in the same city as them. I'm sure that Adidas store will stay open in that locale even if they don't sell one pair of shoes
I think Che would have approved  of the one fighting the other, and laughed his ass off :D that's what I think.
Che was living in Havana, and was from Argentina. If he was going to have good shoes made they would be sturdy leather possibly Italian by an Italian craftsman for the purpose of moving through jungle yet being comfortable enough to wear every day without the need for a second pair  come on be real.
He thought in terms of gear and strategy. His only wish in having a hand made pair of good leather and design would be longevity and need to walk long distances. So neither. Not a sneaker guy, they don't do well in marsh! :D
