Dont quote me on this cos im no expert but i think what you are talking about is the growing popularity of far right groups in continental europe.
This is not as radical as the sort of fascism that occurred in post WW1 Germany and Italy but carries the usual rascist and other evil policies.
Basically this modern form of fascism is rising in popularity due to the mass immigration that is occuring in Western Europe. The result is large immigrant populations in industrial/urban centers causing friction with the native population who resent the heightened competition for labour etc.
Far right parties promise tough immigration policies and in the case of M LePen in France the forced extradition of non citizens. Unfortunately these rascist policies are proving popular (20% of the French voted for the far right in a recent election)
Luckily even this high stat is not too worrying as all other parties immediately formed a coalition to block LePen from getting in, however it is a warning to Europe.

"(20% of the French voted for the far right in a recent election) "
psst 20% of French _voters_ voted Front National.
I would personally be more concerned about the Fascists in power now, ie Blair,Bush,Prodi,Chric,Howard (is john howard still prime minister of Oz?)
If your concerned about these things though, i suppose you can take soilice in the fact that 20% of french voters marked their card for the far left aswell.

Yep, I think what's goung on in Italy is a new kind of fascism, call it "media fascism". Berlusconi bought his victory in the elections through medial power. He is owning most of the bigger TV stations and could so easily manipulate the people. Now where he is in power he has also control over the public TV.
