When pop took control of rock and punk music, they turned it into 'Lim Bizkit, 'Busted' and 'Sum 41' and produced a bastardisation of some great sounds.

Well, it's now happening to Jazz music, and i'm a really big fan of jazz. We have the likes of Norah Jones, Jamie Cullum and Katie Mellua who have started to pop-up jazz music. The only difference with the pop-punk shit and this is, I actually really like it...

What are peoples opinions on it this new wave of jazz or Jazz in general?

My secret shame is actually liking Katie Mellua, I have a huge crush on her as well.

They're pretty bad, in my oppinion. I love some early jazz, mostly I love bop and hard bop.

They're all shit, nu-Jazz should be about experimenting and breaking barriers - not repeating standards and writing cliche coffee table garbage.

Jazzanova, New sector movements, Truby trio etc... That's nu-Jazz, suck it and see.

I like and agree very much with that point.

I like it all the same.

It's no really jazz, it's slow and depressing, and no fun. It's more like a sorta pop version of soul.

Where's the improvisation?

Is it anything like smooth jazz? I hate that shit! Smooth it out so it can appeal to the widest (whitest) audience possible.
