Where are "Dimmu Borgir" from? I like them, not too sure of their political alignment though :P

Not a Norwegian artist, but almost. ;)
Björn Afzelius, he is very popular in Norway as far as I know, and he is some kind of socialist, and really great.

Dimmu Borgir is Norwegian.
And if you like punk you could check out Fence, really nice lefty band from Oslo.
InGlow is also good, rock/punk, I saw them live on a Socialist meeting before the elections in Norway.
Norwegian black metal bands are endless, Im not gonna be bothered listing them.
Im positive youve heard about Gluecifer, if youre Norwegian, they are a bit leftist(strange enough).
and for american bands there are the obvious like nofx, rancid, international noise conspiracy, and you could just check out the bands signed up on the "warped tour", enough lefty bands there, even dough they are mostly idiots(no offense to whoever).

Only Norwegian band I have really listened to at the moment is "Lumsk". I don't know their political alignment, but I really don't mind. They are an excellent folk-metal act, definately worth checking out.

if youre into folk-metal you could also check out Gåte. They dont really have any political stance, but they seem a bit anti-imperialism with their style.
