I read the crazyest thing in the paper recently!
The overfishing of Sardines promotes global warming. Sardines eat alot of plankton but without all the sardines less plankton is being eaten and it just dies and emits methane - a gas that holds heat, promoting global warming, and scientists have recognized this as a potential problem.

Definatly, we should start spray-painting stuff like "sardines promote global warming" on the sides of Waitrose and M&S and stuff.

Comrade RAF, quit being a fuckwit. Recognising that human activity affects the environment is not being mellinarian, it's just paying attention to science. Not everything is reducable to "Leninism For Dummies".
I wish it were, but I've been to the Sydney Tar Ponds - my family lives on a harbour that is so polluted that, if you fall in it, you need several days hospitalization, and more needles than I've had in my lifetime.
Seriously, you might be satisfied choking on smog, as long as it's in a workers state, but some of us have higher standards than you.

Virgin Molotov Cocktail, quit being a fuckwit. Recognising that human activity affects the environment in irrelevant ways according to human social and industrial development is not being "mellinarian" (sic), it's just not paying attention to pseudo-scientific rabble. Not everything is reducible "fanatical junk-science for dummies". I wish it were but I've been to the La Brea tar pits - my family lives on a bay that is so polluted that if you fall in your it the flesh will instantly melt from your bones and leave your children's penises with oozing blisters. Seriously, you might be happy with the next "leftist fad", as long as the t-shirts still make you look rebellious and mysterious to the chicks but some of us have higher standards than you.

Comrade RAF, you have made a point, but at the expense of some beautiful tar pits, La Brea is beautiful and people have found great inspiration there.

1. I appologise - I meant "millenarian". However, rather than harping on spelling, perhaps you would like to address the generally accepted scientific fact of global warming?

2. The Le Brea Tar pits are an entirely different from the Sydney Tar Ponds, the latter being a disturbing example of environmental negligence and disturbing human consequences, because reactionary fuckwits would sooner dismiss disturbing reality as junk science than face facts.

3. Your reactionary line on global warming is eeirily akin to the position taken by far-right conservatives. Dismissing science which isn't compatable with yr line as "fanatical" is a poor approach, and has yeilded disasterous consequences thus far.

4. I have very few t-shirts with slogans, no do I tend to dress for "Chicks". You don't know me, and don't act as though you know shit about me. I'm glad we've never met, because sexism, authoritarianism, and an indefensible conservative-esque hatred of ecology are all huge turn-offs for me.
