The book i'm looking for is about an American teen arrested in Turkey in the 60's or 70's with hashish, and then is sentenced to like 60 years in jail. But he escapes and returns to america.

FYI i'm not looking for Jack Gantos' "Hole in my life"

The two are similar but not the same.
