So, I've been thinking of starting this sort of graffiti thing in my locality to get the message out there. Does anyone at che-lives do this? Does anyone have pics either?

The original graffiti thread (http://www.che-lives.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=6517&st=0) . The pictures don't work anymore, I'm not sure why. Before I used to post here I remember this was one of the first threads I looked at.

Are there any organized dissident graffiti artist groups? Like ones that would spray paint anti-U.S. government messages on walls.

Thanks for the response.

I'm sure I've seen Banksy's art before. I think the use of stencils is a good method. It gets the message across and is a good tactic in this CCTV culture society. Some people think it's cheating I think it's shrewd dedication to the movement.

I say while in Graz, Austria someone had spray painted "capitalism kills" on a wall.

It was good to see.

Personally, I prefer stencil art. I really need to get off my arse and do some.

But with graffitti, I've only tried slogans.

Do you mean to do artistic graffitti commiecrusader?

Perhaps Che-Lives could have a symbol you can use in graffiti? That would help advertise the site and it might help spread C-L across the world.

I do stencils, and maybe sometime I'll post some up that you guys can use too. To see if the ones i cut out work well, I just use a piece of white poster-board to spray it on.

www.stencilrevolution.com good tutorials and gallery.

commiecrusader- I think the best way to practice is to simply draw and sketch your designs on paper and practice like that prior to going out and putting them up.
When I went out a year or two back the three of us did our big designs and then wandered around tagging....looking back seems a bit stupid or just reflective of teenage angst! Its good fun though, the rush......wear a mask if youa re gonna do it seriously!

I wanna do artistic stuff rather than those bullshit crappy looking towny 'tags' that are actually just crappy scrawls on the wall. They look bullshit but artistic graffiti is da bomb so to speak. Cheers for the help, anyone with examples to post of their work would be cool, inspiration can come from anywhere lol.

It's a really long list of all the things the rioters in Paris 1968 spray painted on walls all over Paris and Prague. Too cool for capitalism! :D
